Does anybody know whether or not natural peanut butter contains EFA's, omega-3s, or any good fats at all? I know it isn't as bad as conventional peanut butter, but I don't know if it is good for ya or not either.

Yes, it has omega 3,6,9. Very good source for EFA's whether cutting or bulking. Eat it with a stick of celery, just a spoon, or add it to your shakes. Tastes like cheating! Cant beat it.

Where do you get naatural peanut butter?

Do they sell it at regular grocery stores, like Giant?

Thanks GoStars! That's what I had suspected, but I cannot find any literature on what it contains. I think I remember reading in Optimum Sports Nutrition by Dr. Michael Colgan that natural peanut butter did, infact, contain omega fatty acids.

Dread,

I am not sure about Giant, we dont have those here in Dallas. I have found it at some regular grocery stores but if you cannot go to a natural food store. We have World Market, Whole Foods down here.

What is natural peanut butter? A brand? Theres a machine at the supermarket near me. You pour in a bunch of peanuts and it turns it into a nasty looking peanut butter that comes out the bottom. Is that natural peanut butter?

natural peanut butter has no sugar or flavorings or colorings or preservatives added. All that is in it is peanuts and oil.
the first time you open the container all you can think is "i'm gonna eat this?" becuase the oil seperates from the peanuts. You have to stir it to mix it back in. I can't eat any other kind of peanut butter now. If you don't like peanuts, you won't like this stuff. it actually tastes like peanuts.

I hate to come in here and fart in your party, but why don't you just buy some flax seed oil. Drink a tablespoon (or two) a day and be done. Unless you really like the natural peanut butter so much, the flaxseed oil far surpasses the peanut butter as far as essential fats. Dan Duchaine had rated flaxseed oil more important than even protein powder!! Charles Poliquin once said if u must travel, at least bring the caps with you.
