is calories calories,no matter how they come....im asking beacause when i have a tablespoon of flax oil,50 grams of protein and 1.5 cups of oatmeal, i dont feel really full and i feel weak....versus if i had the same amount of calories of real food i would feel pumped and alot more energenitc,why is this,some powders like metrex make me feel full i think it is cuz it is thicker

Well maybe you should try a new protein

there is no substitute for real food! it is always better to eat real food. protein, and MRP supplements should only be used post workout for absborbtion, any time you need to squeeze in a meal (but don't feel like eating, or it is convenient.)

basically, calories are calories
but how full you feel is not based on the calories within what you eat... I can drink 5 cups of water and feel full but yet they contain no calories..
its based on the actualy volume of food and the content,, since certain content will digest faster than others (IE: protein shakes digest a lot faster than real meat)

I believe you should eat as much 'real' food as you can, and then supplement with powders etc. cause that is exactly what they are, supplements.
