Ok. Lately i have put on some weight. After a stint of laziness i began lifting again. I essentially do no cardio and have eaten just like anyone would. (whatever is there i eat it) Im wanting to lose size (fat) but not all the muscle. Im thinking to start doing maybe cardio 5 times a week 30 mins, which i never did before, with lifting, and cutting back my diet. Should this show results?

NO DOUBT! If you can get a propper diet down, you'll see great results. Add in the cardio as you described, and you can't loose bro. Good luck,

It depends on what you mean by "cutting back on calories". Your diet will make or break your fat-loss efforts, though a bit of cardio is a good start. Details please!

Cutting back on calories. Meaning eating smaller meals, and better stuff. Just watching what i eat more. A considerable calorie change, maybe 500-750 calories a day less maybe. On top of the 5 day 30 min cardio

SLICK, YOU WILL DEFINITELY SEE RESULTS FROM CUTTING DOWN ON YOUR CARBS/FAT/CALS. THE CARDIO WILL HELP BURN OFF THE FAT, BUT AFTER A WHILE, YOU WILL HIT A PLATEAU. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO UP YOUR AMOUNT OF CARDIO OR CUT EVEN MORE OFF OF YOUR DIET. I DONT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOUR GOALS ARE, BUT IF YOU HIT YOUR PLATEAU BEFORE YOU HIT YOUR GOAL, THE EXTRA WORK WILL BE WORTH IT. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE WHEN YOU START DOING YOUR CARDIO, THAT YOU WONT STOP UNTIL YOU REACH YOUR GOAL. DONT EVEN BOTHER STARTING SOMETHING IF YOU DONT THINK YOU WILL HAVE THE WILL POWER TO FINISH IT... GOOD LUCK...ZEUS13

This is what I did.
I only ate 3 meals a day, and supp'd two shakes. 5 meals in total.
What I did, was to chop and change the amount of cals I ate... to keep my body off guard, a chick at the gym told me about it.. I gave it ago, and it worked out pretty good.

Example.
Day 1.
Breakfast, 500cals
Shake
Lunch, 600cals
Shake
Dinner, 700cals

Day 2.
Breakfast, 400cals
shake,
Lunch 500cals
shake
Dinner 600cals

Day 3,
Breakfast, 300cals
shake
Lunch, 400cals
shake
Dinner, 500cals

Day 4
refer back to day one, and start again.

and so on... It seems strange, but it worked for me... and it's pretty simple.
I hope this helps you out... Keep up the cardio and weights.. but these wont mean alot, unless you combine them with a good diet.

Bro look into caloric manipulation if this is a long term thing for you. As the bro described above. When cutting I do 2000-2500 calories monday-friday, then sat & sunday I eat 3000 calories to prevent my body from adjusting to the calorie deficit.
5-6 times a week I do cardio on empty stommach or following a weigh workout where insulin is low. A 500-750 calorie deficit would sound good, but if you do the cardio, go with 500. Avoid overkill, don't go at it to hard in the beginning, increase slightly.
Best of luck bro,
Mike H / VIKING OF THE NORTH.

Take a couple weeks and cut and count calories. I think you will be surprised. I am convinced fat loss is the food, not cardio.
