Valdez had a post stating that you need at least 100 carbs after a workout. Does it matter where it comes from? Snapple makes a drink that has 75 carbs in it. Is it ok to get the carbs from that?

Well, you need simple carbs post workout, snapple is simple carbs. I would say it's okay to get your carbs from there, but try to stay mostly with 'clean' simple sugars-instead of these diff. drinks containing tons of addetives etc.

I like to take my LBM in Kg and multiply it by 1.5 to give me my total amount of carbs in grams that I should ingest after a workout. Lets I have a LBM of 200 pounds. I take 200 lbs a divide it by 2.2 to get 90.9 kg. I take 90.5 kg and multiply it by 1.5 to get 136.4. Therefpre, I will ingest 136.4 grams of carbs after my workout (bulking). This should be ALL high GI carbs like grape juice, dextrose powder, or Ultra Fuel. I like to take this before I leave the gym. I drink it right in my car in the parking lot. Then I go home and take a shower and take my protein.

I think that one needs about 30g simples directly after the workout and the other 70-100 grams about 30 min after. The 70-100grams should be complex.

It is of most importance that you consume all your carbs straight following workout to get back into possitive nitrogen balance to prevent catabolization of muscle tissue. These carbs should all be simple ( between 80-200 grams. depending on you current goals and size.) Also to make an insulin spike to drive nutrients into muscle cells. I personally advocate to take 25% of cals post workout from protein and 75% from simple carbs. Other people like to only ingest carbs and then about half an hour later ingest proteins.
