When you've done a CKD in the past, how many calories did you eat during the ketogenic phase? Were they maintenance level or lower? Were you able to consume the number of calories that you set? I have a hard time reaching the amount of calories that I set for myself on a CKD because I'm never hungry. Do you have the same problem?

I just multiply my bodyweight by 10 and 12 and use these figures as a starting point. I usually try to keep it towards the 12 mark, but as you probably know, when you are on any diet (without the use of juice, T3, insulin, blah, blah, blah) your body temp/thyroid etc. will start to decrease and the fat burning gets a little tougher. I usually go down to right around ten or so, but do not really go below this unless I skip a meal by accident. The addition of fat burners and cardio really help. I have never gotten to the point where I have found a CKD to totally stop burning fat. CKD's, like all other diets, just tend to slow down a little after dietng awhile. The weekly carb-up is NOT enough to restore normal thyroid conditions. Therefore, instead of extending the carb-up to fix this problem (with the addition of spill-over), I have found that shortening it works better for me. I usually do not go above a 24-30 hour carb-up.

As for not being able to eat enough, I never really have this problem. Being in ketosis definately negates the hunger, but I never had a problem of getting in enough food. Try finding foods that are more caloric dense. I find that Pepperoni slices really help me. Also, they are around 80-85% fat and 15-20% protein, which fits the bill just perfect. The additon of ground beef (the fatty kind) with cheese, olives, bacon bits, and Ranch dressing is another favorite of mine. But, my favorite meal is a whey/fat pudding that takes only about a minute to mix up. Seems like I give this out every month or two, and I wonder if anyone actually uses it. I just mix 6 Tablespoons of HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM with 1-2 tablespoons of canola oil, 20-25 grams of whey protein, 1/2 to 1 packet of Equal, and sometimes 1 teaspoon of some orange flavored fiber (sugar-free) drink. I eat this pudding twice a day, then I add 1-2 of the above meals in between. I only eat 3-4 meals per day while in ketosis. Well, this is what I do, and it has worked for me, don't know if it helped any, but maybe it did.

Thanks for the feedback. I did the whey pudding thing to get those calories that I needed but it just got to the point that I was never hungry and the thought of eggs, bacon, steak, etc made me ill. Some days I had to force myself to eat. I ended up losing to much weight because of the reduced calories and feeling like crap most of the time. I'm finding the Animalbolic diet easier for me to follow.
