Testosterone cause of prostate cancer?

You may have benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) or perhaps prostatitis. Many possible causes, but may not be related at all to AAS. While it is very true that test will accelerate an existing prostate cancer, there is less data to suggest it is the cause. Estrogens are bad news as is DHT and are both a function of test.

Best thing to do is have a yearly digital exam and PSA. Catching problems early is critical.

If you have a lot of discomfort with the enlarged prostate (i.e., burning, feeling like you have a hot egg stuck in your ass) and the digitial exam is very painful but otherwise normal, then it is prostatitis and not BPH. Need to try a long-term course or two of antibiotics. You may have to try a few different antibiotics as some work and others don't. Some guys have chronic inflammation that does not respond to antibiotics. Making sure your gut flora is normal is important as well. There is some recent lit that suggests that can be a cause of chronic prostatitis.
