does anyone know what region of the U.S. this accent comes from?

It's called jack-a-bean english. Originated in the Whitechappel region of London. You know scum of the earth types...

they also say "warter" instead of water.

and they say "I'm going to THE Wallmart" insted of "I'm going to Wallmart."

Here they say, "I had to go to Walmarts to buy a few things."

It's sounds like we have a dozen or more when we only have one.

Gets on my nerve but what do you expect from a state that is first in only one thing in the nation.........trailers.:)

Central Mizzourah

End of the appalachian chain. Durig the 1820's there was a large english migration to the states.

i was raised in st. louis and never even came close to saying "warshing machine." my older sister says "beg" instead of "bag" though, so she's got midwestern in her. my mom says, "we should've stopped when we had your sister" a lot.
