I would think it best to do so gradually, so as to prevent potential catabolism.
Also, what is your body's calorie minimum for maintenance?
Why 2.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight? Has this proven to be more effective for you than 1.5g/lb?

Were it me, I'd go for about 350g protein, 150g carbs, 67g fat every day, which would total around 2600 calories.
