Here's the deal with Primrose Oil.
I still recommend it, but for something that wasn't even mentioned in those articles -- it lowers LDL.
Now, PO is a phytoestrogen. Uh oh. We don't like that. BUT...it has an anti gynecomastia effect. Hmmm. Could be it acts as an estrogen agonist, much like Clomid which is an estrogen that occupies e receptors preventing other estrones from docking...maybe. It's a little bit of a hit or miss thing.
Now, back to PO. Obviously since it's not a drug the effects won't be radical, thus pretty safe. I like taking it on days when I use adexx- 1/4 mgs twice a week. (I also use natty anti e supps throughout the week) I figure this will help with all the health benefits and any slight elevation in estrogen will be twarted by the dexx. This is purely speculative but it's all we've got.
This is a new area of hormonal health and we're in the infancy stages. Sometimes we just have to do what makes sense and err on the side of caution.
For what it's worth, my cholestrol is usually around 160, my HDL is over 50 and my LDL is practically non existant and I hardly eat a spartan diet. My estrogen always comes in between 10-15ngs which is perfect for a man.
