Pre-Workout Shakes + Experiences - Post 'Em Here

Today I had my first pre-workout shake.

I took 6caps of purecee + 5 caps of White Blood 30mins prior to WO + 30g of malto
15 mins after - 30g of whey

Had a great workout :P

Not sure what did the trick, but I had the same stack without the shakes on Monday, and I definitely did better today.
 
Today I had my first pre-workout shake without the purecee. (had to take 4 caps Post w/o b/c I had to take someone to airport at 4:30 and straight to gym after that)

So an hour before AM training ~12 oz Gatorade + 2 scoops ISO AGB (30g 112 cal 27 g Protein) + 2 Cardio Breeze.

PWO Shake same as above 15 minutes after, less the CB

My workout dragged without the cee & wasn't able to lift as heavy.

Results Pre/Pwo shake + my 4 caps of Cee (pre w/o dose) the previous week was fantasic. I was awake, energetic and lifts were heavier.

Yesterday was off weights but still have AM shake Pre AM cardio & 2 caps purecee AM/PM ...

Today, didn't forget my 4 caps of purecee + 2 Cardio Breeze + 12 oz Gatorade w/ 2 Scoops ISO AGB.

It was chest day, went up 5 lbs on my weights for flat, incline, decline & DB flyes (my focus is full range of motion and I was able to Up the weights from last week AND get in an extra 2-3 reps on some ... I didn't wanna push it b/c I didn't have a spot & dude there was too busy loading the plates on the leg Press for half reps yelling louder than Louie training for "O" ala Pumping Iron)

PWO Shake + 17 oz Gatorade w/ 2 Scoops ISO AGB.

GREAT workout for me today. TGIF :)
 
The main trick to pre workout high gi shakes is to time it correctly. You want to be into your first working set or so when the high gi is spiking. If you wait too long, you can be on the downside of the spike, and actually have a terrible workout. (low blood sugars).

If blood glucose is low at all, your performance will indeed suffer. The idea is get it up to normal levels at the very least, and with proper timing have "ideal" levels.

Blood sugars can plummet from a heavy hard workout, and the high gi can help prevent that. I have experimented in the past with everything from hostess apple pies to marshmallows.
 
I work out at 5 am and I'm trying to see how a pre W/O shake helps or does not help my workout. I've done AM training on empty for too long. Need to test some other things with my body.

I sipped my shake throughout the morning and had the best leg day of my life. Prolly not much to you guys, but GREAT for me & my personal best since I've started training.

4 caps of purecee + 2 Cardio Breeze + 12 oz Gatorade w/ 2.5 Scoops ISO AGB

I also always drink at least 1.5 L water at the gym in the morning.

I have seem to see my Endurance Go up, not too much of a strenght increase.

Felt Stronger, more pumped, but i can certainly feel the difference in the endurance area. I WAS GOING to faulure, but it still felt like i had some juice left, Like energy surge, that allows your muslce to get tired put you want to keep moving

Felt GOOD Nice pump, buddies at the gym were having redlines, i didnt need anyything. I really can tell my endurance has improved with the preworkout shake

(Quick gym day)

Felt GOOD Still, but muscle endurnce seemed little less, had some struggling with finishing, but still pushed myself through it. FELT GOOD, but endurance seemed to lack just a bit

whoa, had the best chest day of my life yesterday. Maxed at 200.
i weigh 178! Eating like a horse is helping alot!

but same story, even though i wasnt able to move up to 205, i still wanted to try, had very slight fatigue(muscle fatigue yes, exhasuted, but i still WANTED to go)

Im liking this preworkout shake, plus the added calories are always a benefit.
But shit lately ive been sipping it through the workout like bunny and damn by the end im STARVING.

I had my best chest day this morning, (best leg day previous week) ...

Again, I sipped my shake throughout the morning... 4 caps of purecee + 2 Cardio Breeze + 10 oz Gatorade w/ 2 Scoops ISO AGB ... diluted it with a little water so it would last longer.

On my flat bench I went up +10 lbs for 5-6 rest No spot No cheat.

Incline +15 from last week ... 1st set I accidentally loaded each side with 30 lbs + the OBB and managed a Full ROM rep lol. Then I realized I had 30 lbs total + the bar (not 60 lbs + the bar) lol :rolleyes:

Decline also +10lbs then + 10lbs more to finish ...

What ever is going on, I'm enjoying it b/c I'm cutting, not eating nearly as much as I was, and my lifts & strength have been ^^ ... I wonder when this will taper ...
 
Im hoping it Tapers After im bulking lol thats for sure, but buny imagine if you werent cutting and just maintaining, how much more u would be gaining.

Def seen some improvement, PLUS i got my partner doing the preworkout shakes and his lifts have increased as well. Crazy!

Thank you very much. :D I just got off ~ 16 week bulk so it's TIME to cut lol trust me, it's time, but I know what you're saying. I'm dying to see my ab veins again, I miss them.
 
if you work out first thing, this seems like a great idea. Other than that, I see no point but to consume water...postworkout shake is called postworkout for a reason IMHO
 
JKURZ, we are still taking the PostWorkout Shake.

We are doing our own "study" if you would, about the prenutrition shake,

we got the idea from a very good article reguarding glucose levels and prenutrition.
were giving it a try out and all seem to like it.
 
I train at night and use a 30 minute before shake through during (i'll finish it before the workout is over) then i'll eat a whole food meal 1.5 hours later usually.

I also take my 5 caps of PureCEE right when i start sipping my shake too. Sick pumps... works for ME!

works great for me, to each their own!

Now he usually picks me up, and i have his shakes for him and shit but i didnt have enough protein for his preshake, i had his PWO but no PRE.

LEt me say, i had the best Sqaut Day of my Life Again. Beat a Personal Record. (243LBS.)

But we also worked shoulders. Well, he ran out of Gas and i kept going. Now, i jumped into HIS routine. So he is at the sctrengh i am starting to get at. But he just seemed to loose his GAS.

I had enough to keep going heavy too.

Could be the PRenutrition, or could be 3000+ Cals/Day. BUT IM LOVING IT.

WTG bro... yeah, I definetly swear by a pre/during workout shake now.
 
I did the prwork out No-Explode today,I did 2 1/2 caps and thought it was ok but nothing crazy,I liked the VPX redline drink better preworkout.
 
lol, well know ur throwing in REDLINE! lol yea REDLINE KICKS ASS in the PUMPS and power, i just like knowing there is a nice amount of nutrients/amino acids, floating in my belly while working out too.

Throw in a redline during and have the shake pre lol!
never too many cals bulking! lol besides redline is 0 cals

^^ I'm loving it as well ... can't relate to the 3000 cals (anymore lol :cow: ) but I had a killer Shoulder workout today.

4 Purecee + 2 Cardio Breeze & I used YES this morning + the Pre/During WO Shake (10 oz Gatorade & 2 scoops ISO AGB --> This is my PWO shake as well)

I had alot on my mind & I find such sanity in training, so that could have also accounted for a great w/o, plus the things above, as MM mentioned... whatever it is, I'm enjoying it.

Little breakdown of my mini gains :verygood:

SHOULDER PRESS & Arnold DB Press – (with the help of Rob Zombie) :garza: I was able to stay at last weeks highest weight for duration of set & pumped out reps for both exercises

UPRIGHT BARBELL ROW – (*increased 5 lbs for last 3 sets from previous week*)

DB SHRUGS – (*able to stay at my max weight from last week for 3 more reps* I couldn't go up to 55 lb DBs because my grip would slip & always forget my wraps, maybe next time I'll try something else)

i see that you use ISOAGB. Is it really worth the price? how does it mix with gatorade? Thats preety damn smart if ask me.

Also how many G or protein per scoop of ISOAGB? I might pick some up, but i feel My opitimum nutrition chocolate tastes so damn good lol

For me I hit the gym to only work Triceps and Abs. Went preety light, so nothign spectacular. ( i considered this an off day, but my partner really wanted to go and i said sure)

Bunny it seems with the Pre, its mostly about the stamina and endurance so far is what im thinking. Besides cant go wrong especially if it fits your macros right!

^^ I concur with the last statement. I am also experiencing the benefits from going to NOTHING pre/during WO to something with the addition of the shakes.

When I first started training last January (05), I could not stand any type of Protein shake PERIOD. I still can't really (maybe some other time I'll explain) So with that, I never had to find something that 'tastes' good, b/c with ISO I can flavor it myself. Other than being a 'powder' (and those always can tend to have a chalky texture), ISO is the only thing I can stomach. The convenience with the Gatorade is just GREAT for me ... if you shake it hard enough, there at times where there are no goop or chucks at all whatsoever, all dissolved, a little foamy but I also may add water to dilute it so I can sip on it longer & have more liquid.

I have to find Ulter or Macro to rehash a previous convo about this, but ISO has the Digestibility quality similar to that of baby food & you get what you pay for. I'm not looking for taste, plus it has no carbs so I can add my own.

Here are Macro's for 2 scoops I use

This morning I decided to do supersets of Chest & Back. I wouldn't say my lifts increased, but my endurance was elevated & with every working set I was able to up the weights. I.E. for me Flat Bench (Bar + 50 lbs) I would be spent after 6 full ROM reps but adding Wide Grip Lat Pull Downs (to below chin @ 100 lbs, which is heavy for me) for another 8 afterwards ... I was really INTO this workout. Feels good to change things up a bit & still be able to hit some of my hardest lifts.

Pre Workout 4 Caps Purecee / 2 Cardio Breeze / Yohimburn ES

5:00 A.M. – Pre/During WO Shake
Meal # 1 :
• 16 oz Gatorade
• 2 scoops ISO AGB

8:00 A.M. –
Meal # 2 : PWO Smoothie!!! This was so friggin good ... I need more cals so I went this route instead of repeating # 1
• 1/3 Cup of Blueberries / 6 Strawberries / 1/3 Cup of Raspberries
• 1 small Banana
• 2 scoops ISO AGB
• Ice & water

Nice smoothie, especially since its has the berries in it. Very thermogetic food.

This week i was planning on swithcing it up alittle too. But i am going VERY HARD THIS WEEK. I finally got my macros and food intake great. im going to be hitting 3500-4000 cals/day guarenteed now, so im hoping strneght should increase!

BUT NICE bunny!! Nice progress!

Hey guys :) Well I just got my BF redone, as I needed another reference point to judge my progress and make sure I'm not dropping anything TOO FAST, lest I lose my lovely muscle :)

I just thought I'd share my progress for those who are interested.

Brief review:

My goal is body fat loss, with preservation of muscle from the 16 week bulk I just came off Mid Feb. My AM training has been changed to incorporate a pre/during workout shake & POST workout shake. My lifts have increased fabulously & it appears that the scale dropping, tape measurements decreasing, cuts & definition improving every day, and now drops in BF (I am more concerned with the drops in the actual skin fold measurements) all seem to say "i am doing something right..." ... last thing to do is update pics which will happen in a few days when I can locate my camera man :) My camera phone DOES NOT do me any justice.
