was wondering what you guys thought of this;
in sports studies class today at school a topic came up about rules in sports and stuff. And how drugs are used in some sports more than others (which I agree with)
This went onto drug use in sports and the teacher in the class said something like
"anyone know the average ban time if an athlete is caught using drugs in the olympics?"
I think he said it was like 5-8 years. Then he asked
"anyone know the average ban time if a bodybuilder is caught to be using drugs? 3 months."
Anyone know if this is true? I was pretty sure the olympia wasnt even drug tested... And neither is the Worlds Strongest Man competition...
Then there was a thing were he drew like a target board on the whiteboard and he said what sports do you think would go in the middle, and be considered to be closest to all the characteristics a sport should have.
There had been a big long list of stuff that everyone said makes a sport a sport, things like competition, rules etc
Ended up rugby, soccer, swimming right in the middle, darts and snooker and pool on the very outside and then he said this
"I would even put bodybuilding on there, due to the amount of drug use in the sport I wouldnt even say it passes on the rules part"
lol I was under the impression most top athletes use some sort of drugs... It was just organisations like The Olympic Games work so hard to keep the drug image away from them that everyday people dont even suspect the reason Usain Bolt is so much better than all the other sprinters is to do with drugs lol.
