What would be the first signs that an injection is turning to an infection or an abcess?? I would guess that redness around the injection site, pain and swelling also..with an abcess...does it start as a scab from the injection point and just grows and oozes from there?? Thanks for any info..

You'll notice a ball, or knot at the site. If this stays for longer than 2 days you may have an infection.
