I'm using 3cc 22 & 23 guage syringes. When I looked into ordering filters, the choices were a little confusing---anybody got any suggestions? Thanks guys Anybody else have hell through the eyes & face getting into Nile Sust. amps. Its like trying to neatly snap the head of a longneck beer bottle---I wind up crushing the top & glass gets all in my shit. What a pisser. Getting into Omnadren amps is a piece of cake.     | ||

Yep, the Sus. Amp are difficult. I once sliced my thumb crushing the top of these amps a few years ago. I've had amps from Pakistan, UK and soon Nile. All difficult. Use an amp opener or (as many people on this board have already said). A bic pen cap. ------------------ | ||

Hey Julez, do you know of an online source for getting amp openers---since my hammer ain't cutt'n it : ) BTW---in case any of you guys want I can post the websites for getting filters (I'll pop out & look em up again), but unless you know what you are doing its hard to know which one to get. | ||

Thanks to Julez I answered my own question in the archives (I didnt know what to type). You can get openers at: http://www.fishersci.com although I might be worried about the paper trail here I said I post some sources for syringe filters: | ||

...but, I still dont know what kind of filter to get for 22 or 23 guage syringes? Anybody know? THanks | ||

The material of the syringe filter is unimportant, since the liquid being filtered is neutral for all intensive purposes. I would get either nylon, cellulose acetate, or PTFE at 0.22 micron pore size for sterility. The 25 mm diameter is more the sufficient. |
