For the last few months I've been working each muscle twice a week...my workout has been going like this...Monday and Thursday-chest,tri's,shoulders....Tues and Fri-back and bi's. Wednesday I do legs...Im unable to work out on the weekends, so the 2 days on/off doesnt' work. Do you think it's better to continue this, or just work each part once a week? All feedback is appreciated. ![]() | ||

I've done both. I used to do the twice per week workout in the exact format you described when I was playing football a few years ago. It worked well and I gained a lot of strength. I would go heavy early in the week and lighter later in the week. I t seems as I have gotten a little older, I have a hard time recuperating when training each muscle twice per week. So now I just hit it once per week. As long as your recuperating and making prgress, I'd stick to the plan you are doing. When you hit a rut and notice your recuperation being hindered, it's probably time to change. ![]() | ||

Remember the key to growth is letting the muscle have ample time to heal....If you work the muscle as hard as possible once a week, it will give the necessary time for recovery.I found working muscles twice a week hindered my growth, when I switched to once a week my progress improved noticeably.Try both ways and see which one works for you, my opinion........ ------------------ ![]() |
