GBL is definately illegal but 1-4 butandiol(sp?) isn't illegal unless they can prove you are buying or selling for human consumption. Some websites sell it as "Computer Cleaner" or "Nail Polish Remover" (BTW it is a kick ass cleaner it will even take out DNP stains from stuff). !-4 But. is a precursor to GHB and works just like GBL. | ||

I knew GHB was a scheduled drug but GBL?? Anyway, how does 1,4-butandiol become GHB? Inside the body? Because the reaction that goes from 1,4-butandiol to GHB escaped me in organic chemistry. I mean, really, I dont think it can be done... at least with sodium hydroxide. Perhaps one of the -OH s can be oxidized to a carboxilic acid.. that would yield GHB. You would need different reagents though.. and I think it is equally difficult to obtain potassium permagenate. Andy | ||
