Yeah, because the Roman Catholic church had
to find something in the life of Christ that
roughly coincided with every pagan holiday
celebrated by the Roman empire at the time.

symbols of fertility honoring the goddess
of the dawn Eostre or perhaps Ishtar or
perhaps Asherah. The history is quite
