Diseases and conditions which require an increased protein synthesis in
order to improve the patients general condition, to stimulate healing
processes or to avoid damage resulting from catabolic processes such as
convalescence , post-operative treatment, wasting diseases, cachexia,
radiation treatment and administration of cytostatic drugs, progressive
carcinoma of the breast or genital organs in the female, disturbances of
haematopoiesis, long term therapy with corticosteroids, osteoporosis,
protein deficiency states in old age and chronic liver diseases.
