Your favorite protein shake

I need to go out and purchase a whey protein shake to supplement in my diet. Can you guys share your experiences with this? What tastes best? What gives you the best result.

IMO... Best tasting is muscle milk (but high fat), best weight gainer/post workout is cytogainer, best whey only is ON Whey or Designer's or VPX No Carb...

I've heard good things about protein factory protein as well if you're into ordering online

Thanks Kabeetz...lots of good info there. I should add that I am in a "cutting phase" (using term lightly here since i am at 22% BF) so perhaps the whey only is the way I may want to go. Thoughts?

I use ON whey and casein.
You can get a 10lb bag for under 50 bucks at www.bulknutrition.com.
That's the cheapest that I've found it anywhere.

Tastewise and ingredients,

ON has a new brand of whey called Gold Standard that tastes good across the various flavors, mixes incredibly well and has low levels of fat and carbs..

Rocky Road has such a strong Marshmallow flavor that it seems to permeate right thru the tub with the lid on.



Price wise, Vitamin Shoppe has a store brand of whey called BodyTech Whey Tech 24 that is supposed to be manufactured by the same peeps as ON. Its as good IMO and cheaper, especially when its on sale..

GNC Chocolate Carmel is my pick for just a straight whey. Muscle Milk otherwise.

BODY FORTRESS whey chocolate, I get it at wal-mart. Only about 12 bucks(2lb) and it mixes up well with water or milk. taste great too. 23gm protien per serving, 30 servings per container.

I use on whey gold standard.. I got like protien powder of the year award..

and supplement of the year award.. which is pretty huge for a protien powder..

ON whey gold standard vanilla icecream, with frozen blueberries.. Mmmm.

I hated the rocky road flavor couldn't wait 'til the 5 pounds was done Everyone is different... I heard ON's Chocolate casien (casein is good before bed because it's long digesting, whey is good pre/post workout because it's fast absorbing) is AMAZING.. I am a vanilla/strawberry kinda dude myself.

yea, they sell the BODY FORTRESS whey at TARGET as well and its always $11 for a 2lb tub. Decent # on it as well. I've used it and its OK.

As for the ON Rocky Road, my marshmallow commentary was not a positive, yet
I wouldn't say its aweful, just sweet and overpowering in smell.

i have ON choc and strawberry..and occasionaly throw it in with some real strawberries and ice..tastes really good
