Young Male - help?

New member
Hi all. I am very young. Going to be turning 21 in late january.

I know nothing about testosterone replacement, hormone replacement, or lowering female hormones.

My great aunt who I'm really close to wants me to get blood work to look at my hormones as she thinks something is wrong with me.

Some background info on me is I am a very big boy. Im 6'3 280 pounds. Mostly fat. I have very big man boobs. None of them are muscle. All fat. They're bigger than some girls. One of my good friends in college has joked with me than my boobs are bigger than hers. Even back when I weighed less I've always had big man boobs and my aunt has always felt that I had either too much female hormones or not enough male hormones or testosterone.

I almost never have to shave. It takes me about a month to grow a pube stash and sideburns. If I didn't shave for a year I still wouldn't have anything close to resembling a beard and what hair I did have would probably just grow lengthwise instead of filling out.

I have very little sex drive. I go to a d3 college down south and play football and man are there some fine women around here that I find myself attracted to but I dont have the same urge that many of my friends and teammates seem to have to have sex. I dont even know why. My school is like those you see in football movies where girls will be with you as soon as they know you play football. So its not like a lack of opportunities decreases it.

I mentioned football. I work out a lot for it and I train very hard and take my nutrition much more seriously than any one I play with. I keep track of my macronutrients and calories. Yet for some reason I dont get stronger at all while my group of friends that I lift with doing the same program our coaches gave to us are making huge gains skipping sets/reps and eating poorly. My curl weight is about the same for 2 years. My bench press fluctuates and right now is actually lower than 3 years ago and has never been more than 20 pounds more than my max from 3 years ago. My incline bench is just as bad. My squat and front squat are better than the bench but they also fluctuate and put on less weight than people on my team even though my technique is better, i eat better, and i lift harder.

Im sure theres more I'm forgetting also

Now I've always just attributed this to poor genetics but my aunt believes theres something more to it and I should see a doctor.

My questions are then:
1) What kind of doctor should I see? My regular doctor, an endocrinologist, a urologist?

2) Is it possible that someone my age who should be at their testosterone peak could possibly have low testosterone or hormone issues?

3) Would a doctor even do anything to solve this issue in someone my age? I feel like they would want to wait until I get the most out of the young years even if its bad for my age

Thanks you very much in advance for your time and hlep

I would recommend an endicrinologist. If you can get on good diet & excercise routine that will go a long way to getting you back to normal.

1) endocrinologist
2) yes it is possible.
3) i won't lie to u but doctors usually don't do any treatment at ur age unless it's life threatening, u have to find a very understanding doc. and if ur lab numbers look really bad and u tell him u'r living a hell of a life then maybe he'll put u on HRT, there's some youngsters ur age that r doing it in rare cases, u may be one of those.

There are a lot of natural supplements you can take to raise test and lower estrogen. That combined with clean eating and heavy exercise can have a huge positive impact on your hormonal balance. Food (or more specifically the micro and macro nutrients in it) are one of the most powerful tools at your disposal, learn to use it. Docs push pills, when most of our problems have a root cause in nutrition.
