I have trouble believing that our education system is one of the best in the world. The schools are underfunded, badly maintained and outdated learning materials. Teachers fresh out of schoolds are often so poorly trained that they are having trouble teaching away even the simplest of things. Beeing a teacher in this country is not considered a high status and high paying job.
I blame it on american influence through tv and movies
Crime is still "low" in this countrym but it's getting worse. Gangs are forming in the cities, the threshhold for resorting to violence is getting lower for each generation. The quest for easy money and status among the young are starting to show on the statistics. Alot of crimes being committed is also a result of a poor integration policy for immigrants and refugees.

Our economy is pretty good. The interest rate are low, the salaries are high and "shopping" for new housing is almost a hobby for some people. We have alot more money to spend on ourself now then we had 5 years ago. But after we "became rich" on oil from the north sea, we've been doing pretty good for ourselves.
But the good economy is also leaving a mark on the soceity in general. The searc for more money, more luxuries are makin us more conceited and selfish. It's all about status and expensive gadgets now. We're getting soft and greedy.

I'm not too sure about life expectancy, but I think we're not to bad off. But we're getting fatter of course, and lazier. That will show up on statistics in the next few years. But it can also go the other way, since we're so focued on looks and setting an image of perfection. That will lead one group trying to stay healthy, while the other group will glutton on fast food and enjoy life through the stomach and televised entertainment. Only time will tell.

The new language of the next generation of norwegian is the "sms" language. I've never experienced so many young people having trouble with correct spelling and the use of proper grammar. But we can all read and write. Analfabetism is not an issue here, like most countries of the western world. If you are dyslectic, you will recieve help, and it will not hinser you much in your adult life, so I gues it's not a problem. If it where, I blame it on american influence through tv and movies.
So basically, Norway is not the worst place on earth. But from time to time, we tend to be bit full of ourself
But wy don't you pay us a visit, and see for yourself. You will be most welcome
BTW, I don't blame anything on american culture. If we're getting influenced by anything, it's our own fault.

no, but one of the biggest mistakes i ever made, was turning down a rich beautiful goddess from there, who said "i was the one" and she was in love with me....i met her at my gym and she spoke english with a broken accent, you know the kind that makes your knees weak?....she was a fairy-tale....and i closed the book...i was a fool.

Its a cool place to live, but oh lordy the taxes are high. I have a company car and as that is classed as a "luxury", the fuckers take 650$ out of my net salary a month extra in taxes...
I just received my yearly bonus and that was taxed at 48% (its classed as a second income)...
but if i ever get sick, then the hospitals are free. when my gf drops a kid, everything is paid for, and she gets a year off work getting paid at 80% of her normal salary, and her job is guaranteed when she comes back to work after the year.
like ringperm said, there is way too much us influence here at the moment, which we will pay for in a few years.
its a good place to live overall.
and the girls are fucking amazing...hot and with no attitude.
