actually the color of your eye is irrelavant as far as getting red eye.
it has to do with where the lens and light source are located.
if the light source is too close to the lens, then the light gets reflected back to the lens - partly why at pro photo shoots the lights are at 45degree angles to what is usually the target (there are obviously other reasons)...
