Salsa is chunky and spicy.
Picante is watery and thin.
Just a guess.....and I'm bored. You need to PM me with that name of the "cutter" you told me about on AIM that day we chatted. I can't recall what you told me....S.O.S!
I see no differences between the store bought salsa and picante. These native Texan in-laws of mine call salsa "hot sauce". Hot sauce to me is cayenne pepper sauce, like Tabasco. I don't get it either brah!
i was at some "coffee/gift shot" featuring hot sauces (dont ask me how they mix with coffee) they had some called anal rocket blaster... shit like that... fucked up... like 250,000-400,000 heat units.. cayenne pepper is 40,000!!!
I can sometimes eat jalapenos and the purple peppers in chinese food by themselves. The hottest stuff I've EVER eaten was called Dave's Insanity Sauce. So hot that it can fatally blister your intestines if you use too much of it (like a whole bottle in one sitting). The place where I bought it made me sign a waiver. I forget the heat units, but just touching the tip of a toothpick in it was enough to light me up. 1/16th of a teaspoon in a large pot of chili will be extremely hot even for seasoned vets.
damn I'm hispanic and I've actually never thought about it. I would have to say picante is the chunky sauce bought at your neighborhood store. Damn sounded like a commercial. And salsa is the homemade damn good sauce which could be mild to fucking hot! I Love sauce with some good chips oh and can't forget the queso! Damn I'm hungry!
