yesterday was my first cheat day on ckd.......

rnch

after 9 days on ckd, deceided to make fridays my one cheat day per week,

i had been looking forward to it for 9 days, lolol.

i did NOT enjoy it that much!!!! all the FF's (forbidden foods) that i had been mentally drooling over didn't appeal to me, or taste THAT good to me!!

i guess..............we'll see in a month or so.

At this point, carb up day is more difficult for me than a normal day. I know all those high carb foods will make me feel like crap. But, every other carb up day I do look forward to pizza and an egg mcmuffin of two :)

Mark, so what are you weighing right now? Keep us posted on the results from week to week.

BodyByFinaPlix,

When your fatloss stalls on a CKD what methods do you employ to break this plateau?
Have you ever used a small midweek refeed?

Cheers

No, I either cut my calories more (I slowly lower them every week anyways while dieting) and/or increase my cardio a little. I never do an extra refeed. I always refeed heavy on the scheduled time. Besides, small refeeds reduce the anabolic effect of the larger one later in the week. This anabolic effect, is what rebuilds any muscle tissue you may have lost earlier in the week, and keeps your metabolism from slowing down.

Besides, if you fatloss stalls, you have done something wrong anyways. Fat loss should be consistant and predictable if your diet is dialed in correctly. If it isn't, you are either not burning off enough calories with your activity, not in ketosis, or your metabolism has slowed down (in which case you need a larger refeed on your carb up day).

What is the duration of your refeed?
What type of macros and calories do you try to follow, if you do follow any?
What type of carbs do you use?

IMO a midweek refeed is a valuable tool to use when bodyfat drops under 10%.
When my bodyfat begins to drop low I incorporate a single high glycemic meal (usally pasta) in the middle of the week. This meal will be taken as the last meal before bed. I find this definatly is good for leptins sake.

Great, so you sacrifice the anabolic effect of the larger carb up for the sake of controling hunger via more favorable leptin levels? Try some diet soda or sugar free jell-o. They work wonders for keeping food cravings in check, without disrupting the benefits of the diet.

I am going to have to disagree with you here. The body is a remarkable thing and has many survival mechanisms in place. Maybe its just me but IMO there is alot of tweaking that will need to be done to ensure the body continues to drop bodyfat. Everyone almost always will lose bodyfat in the beginining of a their diet but as the diet continues metabolism slows, leptin levels will drop ( even with refeeds), ghrelin will increase, T3 output decreases etc. All of these bodies survival mechanisms will lead to plateaus. This is my .02 cents.

Read my previous post. The one you quoted was a continuation of the one just above it. You are correct concerning these factrors. You take these things into account so that you your fat loss does not stall. With a little practive you can quickly learn how your body adapts and predict this ahead of time. We are bodybuilders, not fat people trying to diet for the first time. Thus, if your fat loss stalls, you miscalculated something. EIther your refeeds were too small, you are eating too many calories on keto days, you are coming out of ketosis, etc, etc. Something has been miscalculated.

Hmmm. How could you have miscalculated something if up to that point you have lost bodyfat?
Its not that you have miscalculated something its more that your body has adapted and now you must recalculate to continue progress!

LoL, I suspect this is quickly going to turn into an arguement for arguement's sake. I'll end it right here. I've had a bad week, and while I am grumpy, I'm just not in the mood to argue.

yea me too!

Believe me, those of us who are hardcore believers in keto diets have enough people on here to argue with, without us getting worked up over these minor points, as you will find out before long. :D
