xbox or PS2?

I don't play this stuff so I need help from all you gamers out there. Which one should I get for a xmas gift.

If you can please say why one is better then the other.

Ps2 because it doesn't have halo.

I would say ps2 because of GTA and it has a better controller and you are not giving more money to bill gates take over the world fund.

Now xbox does have halo but since I have never played it I can't say if it is worth shelling out 150 just for one game.

Xbox because it's more powerful.

Online play is 10X better than PS2.

4 controller ports without buying extra crap.

Better controllers. Who wants to push a button instead of pulling an actual trigger when shooting stuff? Plus the triggers/buttons are push sensitive.

PS2 has more games, but xbox has better ones.

When a game comes out for both consoles, the xbox has better graphics, added content, etc.

PS2 controller is the equilalant to the original NES. So basic and plain.

I like my Playstation. But with an X box and if you know somebody that can down load games on the X box you can have all of the old atari games, nintendo games, download music cd's, rent a video game and burn to the x box hard drive.
