WTF.. scar tissue or pinched nerve???

Well for almost a year now (~10 month) i have been having this shooting pain (almost like a burning pain sensation) in my right quad every time i do squats. The heavier i go the more it will hurt. Any idea what this could be, because i think a pinched nerve would of healed (that's what my doc told me it was) by now. What about scar tissue.. does this sound like it? I remember, actually around 10 months ago, my last quad injection didnt go too smothly... when i pulled the needle out, blood squirted... it didnt just drip, but squirted!

Any info you can share will be nice... who can i see for things like this, might go back to my doc or get a second opinion!

i think you may have passed through a nerve ending. this happend to me on my first delt inj. from then on i never attempted one again. basically after going through a nerve the pain stays with you for a while, and i had it all down my arms too, it hurt like hell during my workout; like a pin broke inside. after about 2 weeks it was all gone. but i didnt have blood squirt out though.

thanks for the input JM..... but i dont think it's because i went through a nerve ending because the pain wouldnt last this long. I'm applying a cream that is suppose to relax sore muscles and im gonna start using Dr. Ho's massage therapy and hopefully that will work.

hmmm, perhaps the possibility of scare tissue forming and irritating the particular nerve region? maybe a doc visit would be beneficial.

any input from the docs?

I don't think it's scar tissue. It sounds training related to me. You could have torn something or maybe the weight is getting too high and you need to stretch more since your body isn't designed to lift huge weights.

Not true.. nerve entrapments are notoriusly slow healers. In fact, many don't heal at all but have to be operated on.

I have a nerve injury that has stopped me squatting for 8 months. I am off to France for an operation in August. £2000!!!

Take it easy on the squatting for a couple of months.. load up on b-complex, acetyl-carnitine, inositol, and vitamin c...

try Piriformis exercises....

See a good neurologist - at Mayo if you can afford it....
