However, as long as he treated me well, I didn't care.

I'm glad not all people are as appearance-oriented as some of the folks here.
Perhaps some fat people may have a *prayer* with exercise and diet, but what about the person who is born with a big, lumpy, funny-looking nose? Eyes too close together? Long, horsey face?
If everyone acted the way you do, Frackal, then many perfectly nice, good people who are a joy to know would go loveless their entire lives, just because nature handed them some cosmetic genes you don't like.
This shallowness in American society has got to stop. Our priorities are so messed up it isn't even funny anymore.

If the woman doesn't have any brains, I can't date her. True it helps if she is drop dead goergeous, but to me it is the smarts that matter. OH, plus they have to know how to cook. I can and do cook, but don't want to all the time.

Because a guy's personality and how he treats you is far, far, far more important.
Just ask my mom. Husband #1: Kept her in the house all the time, wouldn't let her handle any money. When he was killed unexpectedly, she didn't know how to drive or even handle a checkbook.
Husband #2? Lies about money, doesn't want to shell out for basic things like a lawn mower or stove to replace ones that do not work, commits insurance fraud, won't listen to any sane advice about money but blows thousands on stupid hairbrained shit and then says they can't go on vacation because her phone bill is too much???
Other male in family: Sexually molested the kids.
I think there are many, many women who could totally appreciate the fact that if a guy is kind and doesn't do this kind of shit, he can look any way he damn well pleases.
I think my sweetie is cute, but if he became morbidly obese, or impotent, or lost body parts in some freak accident, he'd still be the same lovable human being and I'd adore him anyway.
Now, THAT'S love ... not, "you have to LOOK like this or I will have to find somebody prettier!!!"

Too many good looking guys, who think they are hot shit and don't want to listen to what we want, or are too insecure to listen if we say they could change something about their technique to make it more satisfying.

Anyway, my point is that many, many jerks are out there. These were some extreme examples. But most women know far too many jerky men, which is why for those who are smart, physical appearance is unnecessary icing on the cake.

I have had my fair share of jerks, all of them treated me like shit.
I hate the fact that I am so expendable. like I am worthless. I would rather have a guy who cares about me I can always find positions so he doesn't squish me. I was once married to a big guy.
