I think Brazil will kick ass and take names (as usual) adding a 6th star to their tshirt.
Germany will most likely make it to the semi-final (at least) simply because they are home and they will give them a break (you know, a penalty shot here and there to pay for the shitload of money this thing is costing)
as with the last time, the chances of some underdog team turning the tables are high again... some Asian team most likely will upset the bets.

soccer is the number 1 sport in the world by a mile and the world cup comes around only every 4 years. when a team claims they are the world champion, they are a legit world champion. unlike in american sports where they call themselves world champions and they only play teams within the country.

Like I said before in the World League other countries tried to hang but they were injured, beaten, and downright humiliated.....Football = big balls and ability to handle beatings once a week. Ah the difference is that rugby makes it too easy to get down field.....agreed rugby is COOL....but the world hasnt taken to it like soccer because its too violent for most countries.....NFL is brutal......U need pads and gear for that sport......it takes a massive effort to move the ball even a few yards most of the time rugby is much easier in that respect.

America have always had good footballers. They will get out of their group this year.
The surprise package will be Saudi Arabia, the flops will be Holland. Sweden and The Czechs will go a long way, England will be hard to beat, but its hard to see anyone putting one over a Brazil side who are just that little bit better. Hopefully England can catch them lucky in the semi-final!

I think it is legit. Take the World Series or the NBA for example. The winner will be the best team in the world. Look at the makeup of the teams. The players are the best from not just the US, but around the world.
The best come to the US to play, but not in soccer. Why? Because we as Americans are not demanding it. We are not interested enough.
I will def enjoy the World Cup though.

Anyway...when we were school the American touring sides used to come over and even though they were a few years older and bigger they'd always get smashed and go home injured. Seems that they weren't used to the physical contact without all of that padding etc.
