working out on empty stomach

i have always thought it was best to work out on empty stomach, and then eat a lot afterwards... recently i heard it is not good to work out on empty stomach.

Some of you guys on here are the real deal and would love to hear your thoughts on this.
 
I like to have a little something in my stocmach.
Something light like fruit and a protein shake.
 
i have some serious friends who insist on working out w/ empty stomach, i find it nauseous. try at least getting in a protein shake and throw some peanut butter in it for energy 30+min befor working out
 
i certainly feel better when I have something in me but always try to go without eating anything within last hour (i will drink water)... i heard that the food in your stomach and the digestive routine robs your blood sugar level or some crap like that and it is counter-productive to your workout... anyone that can better clarify my claim...? something about digesting and working out not getting along together...

Bro weren't you dogging people about a month ago for using steroids and how bad they were for you, etc? If I remember correctly you were backed up like no ones business and gave up on your cycle because of major shit problems. It just seems strange asking for advice when you were ripping on us for using gear. Anyway, Dave Barr has some good thoughts on pre-workout nutrition. You might be able to find something from John Berardi on it too.

relax dude... go dig up one post where I dogged ANYBODY for doing AAS... said I was getting off due to unwanted side affects... fortunately those sides went away and I am now back on track with 3 weeks left in cycle... but now that is neither hear nor there. If you don't have any knowledgeable insight on my current post then piss off...

Ladycandy is right. Its best to have something in you but make sure its about an hour before. ever notice getting tired after eating? Your body uses so much energy to digest food that it is counterproductive. And yes no-explode is the heat! But for me if i dont have at least a half hour in between a meal and no, Im feeling like puking for sure, especially on squats! Blahhhh

yer its good but i get used to it easy n have to start taking near double the dose which is shit. i cycle it 3 weeks on 1 week off, seems to help keep 3 scoops a good dose for me

I'm not a plat, so I don't have much searching capability, but I remember a thread that you started saying something about how bad they were and we were all stupid for taking them, etc.

And I DID give you some help on your post. I said check out Dave Barr and John Fucking Berardi. They give great advice on Pre-Workout nutrition. With that being said, eat some fucking whey protein, some moderate to high GI carbs, and a little good fat like almonds 1 hour before you hit the gym. OR you can get some SURGE and drink that before and during. Or you can fucking read an article about it in 100 million different places on the internet. That way, you wouldn't have to post a question about eating in the AAS forum. Not to mention I tried to give you all the advice I could about your problem the first time to help you out. Then instead of being a dick and ragging on you about stopping your cycle because you couldn't shit, I said I commend you for making a choice that gear wasn't for you. I'm not an asshole on here and get in stupid ass arguments, but you pushed a button big time.

dude... you are miserable aren't you? I was simply asking where he got the time and passion to devote to downing 4 lbs a meat a day... lol

as for the other speculative post, I think that was someone else... get a life
 
When you put food into your stomach, the body increases blood in that area to help digestion. It takes about 20 minutes of exercise to use up the sugar stores in your blood and those that get pulled from the liver before your body starts pulling from other energy sources like stored fat. Keep feeding it from new digestion and fat comes off slower. I've read that guys who want to increase muscle more than fat loss, should eat a protein food half an hour to an hour before exercising. Guys who want to maximize fat loss, shouldn't eat for two hours before exercise. Both should have protein within 45 minutes of weight workout. There's probably a lot of different thoughts on this, but that seems logical to me.
