Work is getting in the way

I got this summer job and it really sucks. Not many jobs in my field here so I am stuck with this job that consists of loading and unloading freight ..blah..blah..blah.

Its not that bad really but doing it for a continous 9 hours really does a number on my body. I work afternoon so i go to train in the morning but when i get up to go workout i already feel real sore!

The other day i worked chest/bis and by the end of the work day my arms were screaming in pain. Now i dont want to sound like a wuss...its just that it interferes with the intensity of my workouts and that really bothers me.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?????

Getting proper nutrition (getting enough protein?) and adequate sleep will help.

Unfortunately, muscles best repair themselves (grow) when they are resting. Because you are working them hard during the day, it will take them longer to recupe from a workout than if you had a deskjob. You may need to reduce your workouts.

As your body gets stronger, the job will become less taxing and the workouts will gradually improve.

You're undoubtedly getting stronger, but it isn't showing much due to the muscle fatigue. When your summer job ends and you've had a few days to rest, you should begin see a significant increase in your lifts!

Sounds like you are getting a good workout while you're at work then.....And getting paid to build muscle....I know its not the same, but you have to find the up side to everything...Just take it easy on the weekends....Fumunda

Femunda said it right. on your off days if its on weekends do absolutely nothing that involves lifting. i had a job on a dock loading and unloading heavy shit, lifting boxes and shit all day and man i luved it. i was able to eat like a horse and stay lean while putting on muscle, but on my off days i slept and slept some more. also make sure you get enough sleep at night. another thing, i worked out when i got off work instead of before, working out in the morning with a job like yours is horseshit, i would go home and load up on protein and carbs and relax for about an hour and then hit it. seemed to work alot better for me rather than trying to get up train before work. your job isnt as bad as you think man, go sit behind a desk all day, i have to work extra hard in the gym now to keep the ol abs.
