Wisdom Teeth cut out.

MAN! I got my wisdom teeth cut out. God, i didn't think it was going to be to serious. but jeezus I can't even eat anything besides swiss rolls and other debbie cake products. and the strange thing is the pain killers are weak, but the nurse said it would hurt like hell the entire first day. I'm still havin trouble keeping things down, but not as bad as yesterday. And eating is my favorite thing on earth other than lifting and boxing. And now i can't eat damnit. That pisses me off real bad. I am begging to resemble a very large chipmonk. lol. It's quite funny. But ah well. Doc says the swelling will be gone in a few days.

Hate to gloat, but my wisdom teeth grew in and never bothered anything. So I left em. Now I have a kick ass mouthfull of teeth too!!!!

what kind of anaesthesia (sp?) did u get? my only option was IV.. so i am goin to do that

did they stitch u back up or leave it open? I'm hoping mine will be stitched, but i'm not sure, they didn't tell me those details..

Damn they didn't cut mine out..I did not go to an oral surgeon though...I shit you not, they gasses me up w/ nitrous, shot me up w/ novacaine, took a pair of dental plyers, stretched my mouth open, one yank the the side, one yank to another, a pleasant ripping sound...tooth out...hurt for one day and I was working out 2 days afterwards, eating normally 7 days after...shame on you boy, talking about debbie cakes and shit...I drank a gallon of milk a day along with oatmeal and eggs blended up for my calories.

i had 4 molars pulled whne i was younger and got no pain killer or anything, wide awake, that was miserable. so as long as it isnt *that* bad.... i'll live.

i only have 2 top ones, no bottom ones thank god.

I HAD ALL 4 OF MINE SURGICALLY REMOVED BECAUSE THEY WERE IMPACTED. JUST PRAY TO GOD YOU DONT GET DRY SOCKET. THEN YOU WILL BE WISHING FOR DEATH TO COME AND TAKE YOU.

Oh yeah Kayne...my mother has gone through some serious health problems, pinched nerves in her neck and elbow, migraine headaches, and she said when she got dry sockets it was one of the worst pains she's ever felt.

Dry socket is when you don't get stitched up, and you suck out the blood clot, exposing your bone to the air and infections...

I had all 4 of mine removed about 6 months ago. They put me out for it. It didn't hurt it just sucked because it kept on bleeding for 2 days after.
The only other thing that sucked was for months after, food kept on getting stuck in the holes where my teeth were before, the holes have finally grown in now.

Oh yeah dread. You'll get em stitched up. They give these stitches that eventually rot out. this is the second day for me and i feel ready to do stuff again. But i doubt i will since i resemble a chinese chipmunk. But my surgeon said the swelling will reduce durastically after the second day. So i'm hoping it's all gone by tommorow. And don't worry about pain. The only reason my pain was so unbearable is because my dad was to fucking lazy to go get me any painkiller. So after the anesthesia stuff wore off. I was ready to kill. But i just slept it off and changed gauze in my mouth every 10 minutes. I found out to day by toying with my wounds thati busted a stitch the first day as well puking my guts out ecause i ignored the no eating rule. Ah well. And to frackal, there's a lottof diff between pulling and cutting. I'm sure your's were bad. But i know mine was worse. Good luck sept 10 dread. And be sure to have the person driving you go directly to the drug store. This may sound gay, but it helps to have someone to hold when your in your pain. Call up your B/f and just hug them the entire first day. You'll be surprised how much it helps.

Dread Lord took 6 vicodan the first day he got his out, he didnt have pain, then agaiun, he was only semi concious

the shitty thing about it (beside my bday) is that i will be missing morning and night classes for at least a day or two because of this :\
such is life i guess.....

I have no clue what medication i was given like I said. I never took any. But hopefully you'll have yours. and goodluck when you get it done.

Call up the oral surgeon/dentist and ask for something else (stonger) tell them whatever they gave you isnt working.

I had all 4 out under an in-the-oral-surgeon's office general. Can't remember what it was...probably IV.

The recovery was pretty quick...annoyingly quick to my husband whose were not so straightforward.

I had mine out because my dentist said they'd never grow all the way in - no room.

I hope yours is straightforward too. I think IV is the way to go - then you don't have the sound effects & pulling etc

I was at home popping over the counter painkillers. Those were what they said take after my real stuff ran out. I'm looking at what i was "supposed" to have and it's called...... Meprozine.

Don't know how good it works since i've never taken any. I have some old stuff from back when i broke my arm. It just helps me sleep better.
