Windows Media Player not working?

Hey,
Anyone knoiw why my windows media players stopped working? I click on a mp3 file to play and up pops the timer as though it's about to load but then it stops. Also, up pops a little icon in the bottom right of the taskbar which when i hover over it displays '-100%'. This then also dissapears after a few seconds.

Hope this isnt a virus.

happened to me to ....some times rebooting worked...other times i had to reinstall media player ...havent figured out what caused it but one of those two things will fix it ...

Mine was doing the same thing... the hundred percent is your cpu usage...I ended up rolling back settings a few days and it cleared up the problem.
