Windows Media Player Help

~~~
New member
Hi -
I just downloaded huge videoclip.. 50 minutes long, 162 megabytes, and whenever i try to view it in windows media player it wont show the picture (video).. it just shows that your showing like a music file and shows all the effect things. and only shows the sound, and not the video. I know its a videoclip, it says it on the computer and is in MPEG format. whenever i go in my computer, then find my videofile, then go to preview it says
"Video not available, cannot find 'vids:MP43' decompressor.. I am assuming that there is something wrong with my windows media player because it says it can't find the 'vids:MP43 decompressor" i'm thinking MP stands for media player.. so if anyone can help me on this, this file took SSSOOOO long to download and it would really suck if i can't view it, so if you know ANYTHING please reply.
thanks.
Is it an actual *.mpeg file?
What version of Media Player do you have?
yeah
its really annoying when you get the vaseline and the tissues out and the damn video is sound only :D
you need a 'codec' to be able to see the vid. try www.download.com or something
it might be divx codec or any codec actually. It should download a codec straight from the site.
divx is avi if memory serves me right, i might be wrong so download it anyway
try mpeg4 too though :)
yea, I found it a while back. I had to search for the file and downloaded the codec from a site and now it works fine.
