I take Dexedrine. An amphetamine aka "speed". I take it everyday due to my ADD. Will this med affect my thyroid? Will it cause it to slow down within time?

i didn't research this but...dexi is a CNS stimulant....it should NOT affect your thyroid
yes you get "speedy" from it and everything sort of alters to maintain homeostasis...but I've personally taken a lot in the amphetamine salts class and have never had my thyroid numbers altered by it (my thyroid is closely monitored)

I really thought that all forms of speed including fat burners would slow down the thyroid. Hence why fat burners are able to burn fat for 2-3 weeks before it's effects stop. I always thought it was from the thyroid being slowed down.

Are you following this as per the doctor’s prescription?
