Will China pose a threat to gear safety?

China, increasingly, seems to disregard the health and safety of the products they export. Every time I turn around, I hear something about Chinese-produced products violating health codes. This got me thinking: doesn't most of the powders for UG labs come from China? Should we be concerned that they're shipping, oh, I don't know, rat poison or something instead of what they claim they're shipping? How do we ensure the safety of what we're buying?

Is this a legitimate concern? Or am I just being paranoid?

yeah...if they kill us all...they will have now business...hell it could be cut though...with something for weight that is a nuetral compound

i think whole thing in media has been overblown ; there was basically 1 incident inside domestic china where bad chemicals found their way into a normal pharmacuitical product and lead to death of several chinese people-i think because the factory(s) that was producing the ingredients for this cold medicine was also producing other industrial chemicals and someone screwed up-at the same time officials were taking bribes like they always do in many countries, as far as outside China the problems were just cat/dog food and possibly some toothpaste-no humans in US or other places died as a result of the scandal., but something happenes paranoia sets in and everything is scrutinized..as far as aas i don't beleive the factories in china that produce it are involved in the manufacture of other industrial chemicals..besides which country would you trust more, India, S. America etc.
