Wii vs. XBox 360

It is surprising to know that this newcomer, Wii, held its own against the much heralded and very popular gaming console, XBox 360. It even surpassed the latter in some instances, sales wise. In the field of expert reviews, they both have the same ratings but Wii holds a slight edge because it has no negative while XBox 360 has one. No one can say that Wii is a one night sensation because in my mind, it still has got a lot to offer despite being around for only a short period so far. Here's the comparison of the review ratings of the two most popular gaming consoles nowadays:

Nintendo Wii Console – has an average expert rating of 85 (based on 18 expert sources)

Microsoft Xbox 360 Premium System – has an average expert rating of 85 (based on 7 expert sources)

I hope this has somehow enlightened some things a little.

Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of trying the Wii yet. I do own an X-Box 360 and enjoy it. Honestly, I don't think any of the systems seem as "next-gen" as they were touted to be. Perhaps we've hit a wall in gaming potential and are having a difficult time breaking through it; but it seems like the previous jumps in console generations have been much more drastic than this one.

At least Wii seems to have taken a risk and thought "outside the box" a bit with their motion sensitive controller. Innovation always comes with high risk and it seems like Nintendo is making it work.

360 and the Wii are, for the most part, marketed towards different types of gamers. I'd love to pick up the Wii to have it for party atmospheres and have a ball with how interactive and downright FUN it seems to be. But with the 360 I enjoy the great shooters and sports games that are being released.

Since the systems seemed to be designed with different goals, and towards different markets, it's difficult to say which one is "better" than the other.

PS: I'm still logging 15+ hours per week on World of Warcraft for PC. My 360 has been cold for awhile.

I had an xbox360, I liked it..I traded it in though because of the massive amount of hardware failures they have had.

After much searching I found a "wii"...I gotta say that even though the wii is not even close to the graphics monster that the xbox360 is, I really enjoy playing the wii more.

It's just fun, the motion controlled games really put you into them. Plus having access to all the old school games(for cheap too) is a big plus.

^^ :nerd: alert

After having my "wii" for awhile now, I can say its pretty boring. The lack of adult non kiddy games route Nintendo is going yet again getting old.
