why/why not carbs during workout?

I always eat some carbs pre workout. But is there any benefit drinking high glycemic carbs during the session?
 
eating during or right before working out draws blood to the digestive track leaving less blood to be utilized by muscles during training this blood supplies the muscle with oxygen and nutrients which effects muscle performance and endurance, and also the "pump"....so you are best of eating an hour to 30 minutes before and stick to the water before
 
this is purely anecdotal, but i'm on TKD, and instead of eating pre/post workout carbs, i chew packs of sweet tarts during my workout. I get about 26 grams dextrose/maltodextrose spread throughout the workout. It gives me just enough energy to hammer out the next set. But i imagine if you were on a break and decided to take a ton of it at once then you would get hypoglycemic since i did that once and i started getting cold sweats and a faint feeling.
