Why Steroids are Illegal

Guys,

The more thinking about this I do. The less sense it makes. The fact that steroids are illegal is bullshit.

a) The users do not contribute to the drug trade like that of cocaine or heroin-steroids MUST be synthetically manufactured in a lab by pharmaceutical comapanies and not by drug lords.

b) The health effects are bogus. The vast majority of users know the effects. If you want to regulate ill health effects, make McDonalds illegal, and get rid of cigarettes. Those have caused far greater deaths than steroids ever have or will.

c) They do not contribute to violent crime or an altered state of mind like cocaine, crack, etc leading to more crime.

d) Drugs like these used for cosmetic enhancement should be available through a doctor's script. Liposuction, breast augumentation sugery is readily available to women, yet this is not available to men or women.

d) When the Steroid Control act was passed in '91, it was intended to target atheletes who 'cheat.' Doping control SHOULD be mandatory and take care of that regardless of whether steroids are illegal or not. The fact that steroids are a controlled substance does NOT stop atheletes from using them. So this point is moot.

Truth being, since steroids contribute to such little difficulty even with health issues when used correctly, The United States has no reason to keep them criminalized.

This is bullshit, an invasion of our privacy and certainly not founded upon the principles that have made this country great.

actually there are a lot of arguments that scorn "safety-net laws" as they are called in my ethics class. the same deal applies with seat belts. if the probability is in your favor that you will not get in an accident in a 10 minute drive, then why should it be necessary to wear a seat belt, or helmet, etc. what it basically comes down to is human stupidity. upon not-so-close examination, any fool can tell that the majority of people in this country are blathering idiots who couldn't pick the president out of a lineup. unfortunately, due to these people's incompetence and overall worthlessness, guys like you, me, and many members of this board are forced to engage in secret, balckmarket activity in order to promote a better quality of life through the use of steroids. since joe-dickhead (lets use the guy with jaundice from a few threads back) is gonna go and take 100mg dbol a day with 2 g's of test per week with no liver protectant for his first cycle, big brother says no to all of us.

the point is we are only as strong as our weakest link. sure, you or i could walk into the white house, show that we are intelligent and know what we are doing and based on that it would seem to the president that his duty would be to legalize steroids, but because it is known that our aforementioned weakest links are many, the rule must be spread across the board, resulting in a fat "NO!" for everyone.

If they were legal, drs would know more about them, and they would be safer. They will never be legal because this country is intent on Winning the"drug war" They have done well since they declared war on drugs. I cant get coke,heroin or pot now, never see any drug related crime. They have really decreased the drug problem here. "war on drugs" is really working.......

I know most guys say that it is useless to try to legalize drugs but there is one political group that has taken up the fight. Libertarians are for the legalization of all drugs. THis is one of their main platforms that they run on, because it sets them apart from all the other bullshit parties. anyway if you do a search on libertarianism or anything related to it you can support them and there cause, one of there other big platforms is to get rid of state tax, seriously, these people have a good shot at being elected into lower offices and even governors and congressmen. THe more of these people that can get elected the more influence we will have to legalize. think of all the bros on all the boards and imagine if we all voted for the legalization process. There are a lot of us out there on numerous boards, just a thought

I think we need to clarify that they are not illegal but a control substance. I believe that steroids should continue to be prescription medicine but the current classification or scheduling is completely out of line.

They are illegal because big bro doesnt get a kick-back from the sales like they do with hard core dope. Many self made millionaires started out selling roids. One is a major supplement supplier now...to name no names. Maybe we should just offer to pay higher tax on the sale of juice. I think that the first step should be the teaching of steroid use, effects, different roids, etc... the real, straight-up knowledge that we would throw around on here. It should start with people knowing the truth of gear rather than the generalizations, after school specials, and TV shows that try to make "good television." If you take the time to know, it will all seem sensable.

yea the sad part is tho, that i can recall several times in elementary school when i watched the video of "billy and steroids" where billy juices and all of a sudden hates his parents, wants to kill people, fails out of school, and beats up his girlfriend. this is "real" knowledge to the people putting it out.
