Why Spider-man ended the way it did

A lot of people didn't like that Peter didn't get with MJ in the end and have theories why he didn't. There's that whole protecting her thing. Some even called Spidey gay but here's why I think he passed on MJ. He thought about it. Despite having a thing for her, she was with Flash and sweated his car. Then went out with his best friend, a rich man's son and while she was going out with his best friend she was throwing herself at Spider-man ever chance she got while she was dating Harry. So Peter Parker came to the conclusion that Mary Jane Watson is a ho. And he didn't want it anymore.

haha dude, too true!

that, or the producers smelt a chance to make a sequel! (sp? btw its pathetic im not certain about how to spell that)

MJ has skeez written all over her, especially down there im sure

Well after being a spider man fanatic, Peter didn't get with Mary Jane who really should of been Gwen Stacy and who did die when Goblin through her off the bridge, because yep he did not want to put her in danger just like everyone else, spidey is one big sap and whatever

but Shows version is funnier

yeah, MJ did seem like a ho, jumping from one dude to another. but nonetheless peter still should have tagged her.

and i thought they should have made his webbing much like the way todd mcfarlane did on the comments. oh well, overall good movie. :karate:

i thought the movie was fantastic. obviously at least one sequel is already planned. my one complaint about the movie is a complaint about a trend in general: too much CGI use! they did a lot of great things in the movie with computers that added to the scenes. but i think they (and others) get lazy and decide to just use computers to make certain scenes easier. i only think CGI should be used on scenes that would otherwise be impossible. I thought there were too many times when spiderman just looked plan cartoonish.

You DO know that Parker and Watson eventually do marry, right? In fact, they married years ago in the books.

I think the way they ended it like they did is so for once, we could have a refreshing change from the predictable cliche hollywood ending: nerd boy ignored by girl, nerd boy accomplishes, nerd boy ends up with girl in love together. Bleeeaach!

For once they didn't give in to the syrupy romance ending.

The movie was supposed to follow the Ultimate Spiderman book which is currently running (it loosely follows it ... they definetly screwed some stuff up, like killing Green Goblin without having him kill Gwen Stacy or even having a Gwen Stacy). Introducing all those characters would've made the movie very hard to follow for those not already in the know ... having Capt. Stacy, Gwen, her brother.

As for Parker marrying MJ, in Amazing, they're separated now.
