Why lock OLD threads?

Part of the power of this site is having nearly everything said archived.

There has been a LOT of discussion recently with a newer member, fxygel2.

He's had female problems and is looking for ways to make himself more desirable, get more chicks, etc.

I remembered that another member had some threads pertaining to this subject, so I bumped a couple of threads.

Now within minutes they get locked? I don't understand this.

Digger has only offered one explanation, that was that he felt some threads were bumped because they had all kinds of banned people on them.

I'm not sure why that would even matter, and sure its unfortunate that people get banned that happened to post on threads that may contain some value to them... I don't see why that is an issue unless the people who banned them have something to hid about the reasons.

Anyway, whatever, I know the mods on the chat board don't usually have anything to do, so locking old threads gives them a bit of a thrill, but please, grow up and stop controlling the content of the site so much.

If there is a rule regarding how old a thread can be, please let me know, and do us all a favor and just lock ALL threads that are too old or that have posts by banned members.. that way we'll never run into this mess again.

on crontraire my friend, we support this site (plats and non-plats), without us there is no EF. I do think that admin is a bit Tyrannical about the way they run things here, as far as not givig a fair explanation about why certain thigns are done.

I can say with 100% certainty that none of HI's threads on chat qualify as having any substance.

C&C's purpose is entertainment, if I want substance I go to the "specialized" boards. IMO any C&C thread qualifies as entertainment.

I locked old threads maybe 4-5 times in the last 2 years. They're irrelevant at the time I locked and the person had just bumped for the fun of it. Otherwise, old threads are still valuable. The anabolic board has some alive.

And threads with banned members are not a problem with me, otherwise I'd have to close this one since we have 2 formely banned members here...

Yes he was. For about 3-4 days I think at his own request. But sometimes on EF, we show some mercy, especially to those who think this site is runned by feds and the CIA is reading all your e-mails
