True but look at the way peoples best practices and advice has changed over the years here. It's like a natural selection process that is too gradual to see.

Personally I think this forum IS the steroid beginners forum and this is not a shot at this forum or anyone in it. But honestly there are very few experts we are all here to learn.

Search function requires plat$$$. Perhaps the board should consider opening up the search function to everyone. That might cut down on a lot of redundancy, and then you can easily respond to repetitive newbie questions: "Use the Search" without them having to say they can't because they are not plat.

Lots of other sites open their site (not just Google) Search function to everyone, including Bodybuilding.com, which is a bigger site, with a lot more traffic. Doesn't seem to overload their servers.

Personally, I don't give a shit one way or the other - I am just giving one reason why there are so many repetitive newbie questions - they cannot easily access the site search function.

Of course, one could also make the argument that newbs who did use an open search function might find the site more helpful, stick around, and maybe buy Plat memberships for the other benefits.
