why is pride so much better than ufc?

everyone says that, but why? never watched a pride fight myself.

It's always more exciting to see 2 fools pound each other with their fists. Doesn't necessarily make them better fighters though. If I can beat a dude on the ground, without taking a chance of getting ko'd by a blow, then that's where we're gonna go. Just not exciting for the blood thirsty masses to watch.

BTW, I'm not allowed in the sport because of the no 1 punch decapitation rule.

to me pride never hyped itself as the toughest or whatever. the rules are slightly diffrent. but UFC use to be so much more violent and now you have refs stopping a fight because "someone COULD have been hurt" give me abreak.

pride has some bad mofo's in it. i also like to see technical groundwork and that is prides selling point for the most part.

plus thier heavy weight div is awesome.

Hughes vs. St. Pierre.

I have only seen a few of St Pierre early fights, about 3. I think he has a lot of raw potential in him but he often (at least then) made mistakes that the other fighter (had they been better) could have majorly capitalized on. Hughes is not going to let something like that slip by him.

I bought the first 9 or 10 PRIDE events in a box set. Some of the early PRIDE events were fucking painful to watch ... very little action.

The PRIDE tournaments are awesome though.
