Why is deca so suppresive

Nandrolone seems not only to shut down the HPTA, it also destroys the ability of the testes to make testosterone at all. Read:

The aim of this study was to clarify the effect of anabolic steroids on the testicular endocrine function of mature stallions. Mature thoroughbred stallions were treated with 800 mg nandrolone decanoate every 3 weeks for 3 months. After the first treatment, plasma concentrations of LH, immunoreactive inhibin and testosterone decreased rapidly to the nadir. These hormones were maintained at significantly lower concentrations compared with concentrations in intact stallions. Histology of the testicular tissue indicated the arrest of advanced spermatogenesis in the seminiferous tubules and a severe depletion of the number of Leydig cells in the interstitial compartment as a result of treatment.

(the leydig cells make testosterone in the testes) there is an older study who found that while ND decreases LH production it shuts down endogeneus testosterone even more. they did not do a histology on their human subjects obviously but it is certainly for the same reason: nandrolone kills testosterone producing cells in the testes. in most cases they come/grow back, but it takes longer that just to wait for LH to be restored and in some cases they never come back fully.

It pretty much is as effective at shutting you down, but the cycle lenght is never as long in duration with NPP as it is with nondrolone. If the ester was the only culprit then even with test Sust would be much harder to recoover from then Prop, and come to think of it it may be but not with such a major difference. Deca is special in this regard. And the fat holds only it's metabolites, totally inert.

Im not sure though I wouldnt be so fast as to count it out. Alot of people do not have problems with it. It does not effect me like that, I have increades libido and recover just fine from it. I have friends and others on the boards who love it. I think if it works for you it could be a very good thing. However I do think it may have a negative effect if you do use it for too many ccyles. But just switch it up every once and ahwil and that could help. I like deca....
I love deca bros. Never had deca dick (600mg or less a week) and alwasy recover fine. I guess I am just lucky though. Deca was the first AAS that I ever used and I ran it by itself and kept about 90 % of my gains with no pct.(i was an idiot and didnt know about pct then) But I have lots of bros that seem to have nearly impossible times recovering from deca.
