Why do people hide the faces in pictures online?

I ask that because so many do. Now for those using steroids I totally understand because of obvious reasons. Are they any oter reasons people don't wanna show their mug?

I guess they dont want to be judged on their looks. Talking on a computer is basically hiding...right? So showing your face kinda gives up your cover i guess.

I think that most people choose to hide their face because a lot of them talk about using illegal substances and stuff on here. I think they would prefer not being found out if someone who knew them stumbled upon this site.

Others may just be self-conscious.

with the job market the way it is companies are very selective in hireing...it would be 2 easy to track someone to this site, which openly discusses drug usage.

For myself I cover up my face in pictures, because at my work I am totally a minority. The workforce of the company is about 90% men.. I have worked hard enough to struggle my way up the ladder. So basically I really don't want one of my co-workers to come stumbling across the site and and see one of my posts or pictures and have it thrown back at me. So, I guess, for me, Elite remains a guilty pleasure....
