Glad I could help! Canada owes me money, since I've accomplished what they couldn't. And I want US dollars, not your damn monopoly money!

As a mom, single or otherwise, you don't have a social life like childless women, single or otherwise. It's self pwnage for 18 years. :)

I can only speak for one mom, but Mrs Longhorns's social calendar is quite full, thank you, and one person's self-ownage is another's labor of love.

Shall I change my name to Angel Mom?

That was meant tongue in cheek, hence the smiley. :)

Actually, it is probably pretty representative of the population, in general. We have young, single women without children here and mommies too.

I am a mom of a 14 year old and I work about 45 hours a week!
When the phones aren't ringing.....I get to hang out with yall. :)
I have a computer at home but I never sign on it while I'm there.

lol

How about a poll?

Mothers

Fathers

I bet there are about equal amts... not including some that don't even know they are a daddy just yet.

When I was single, I was here alot more. That had alot to do with ... eh, being single... not wanting to fancy the club scene so much. Being up late doing single mother chores and spending some of my slack time on the internet either here or looking up other info for projects and such.

I didn't have anyone to go to bed with at night, So no rush to get there. I put my kids to sleep and did my work when they were off in dream land.

Now, with a stiff ..... I mean ... my man there to tuck me in and sing sweet love songs... I don't spend much, if any time lately here in the evenings. Now... during my bored days at work or when I need a break from models and drawings, dimensions... bullshit. Yes, I entertain you fuckers  :qt:  :chomp:

Oh how did I manage to miss this

Well, it's like this, Oceano, you have a kid and the one word you will hear, more than ANY OTHER, is Mom.

Actually, it'll usually sounds something like this: MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! and you will generally hear that being shouted no less than 25 feet away, or from another room.

There comes a point in the lives of most women, particularly if they stay at home with the kids for any length of time, where you have to think twice about what you're name is, seriously.

Now, that being said, once you have kids your time becomes LIMITED. You need the maximum amount of quality exercise in the minimum amount of time. Nothing fits the bill better than weight training. Cardio won't do it. Nothing else helps you build muscle, which increases metabolism (which is a major issue for women after the big 30) like weights, and iron is probably BETTER at building bone density/mass than taking a calcium.

Women who do not lift are missing out on a valuable resource.

Now I personally could literally wax prosaic about how much I like lifting weights. I'll never look like a fitness model, but damn it makes me feel better. I can be in the nastiest mood, and all I need to do is go do some deadlifts. It's the best drug I know.

Yeah, I agree.

There's no reason you can't look like a fitness model. Why do you think you can't?

Cutting diets take committment. You have to really have the drive to stay focused. I'm just not committed. I like to lift ... but I like to drink

If getting your BF below 18% was just a matter of lifting enough weights, reasonable daily cardio, and NO dietary restrictions (and that would have to include alcohol) it wouldn't be a problem. I enjoy exercise, love weight training, but I'm sick to death of tracking every morsel that goes into my mouth, since I already have to watch what I eat like a hawk because of wheat/gluten allergy.

I'm not copping out, I just realize I don't have the gumption, at least not currently.

Its actually not that difficult if you lower your leptin levels.

Wheat/gluten needn't be part of your diet at all.

If you eat from a select group of proteins and vegetables, getting your b/f down should be easy.

Work it from the effect food has on your blood sugar levels, i.e.

Carbohydrates are the fasted releasing.
Proteins are next fastest.
Fat is the slowest.

If you have your diet with low GI fibrous carbohydrates and protein for a significant period then it should be no problem. this forces your body to burn fat.

After a while you can begin to add sources of good fat to your diet.

May I talk with you via PM in the future? (next week, maybe two)?

I have major dietary/digestive issues and would love a sounding board in an attempt to get a handle with what's going on, and conventional doctors/nutritionists are not an option.

That's the ticket!

I still remember back in the dark ages when deciding on a screenname. I thought to myself what name would conjure THE MOST thoughts of, "Eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww". :qt:

Me, I gotta go now... my hubby made my coffee. T'would be rude to make him wait.
