i wish more than anything i could get back all the time i WASTE building presentations and explaining things to people with enough authority to make decisions.

ummm... if i am teaching, and they are learning, who is more qualified to actually make the decision? me. executives exist only because people do not trust each other.

i know, i know, i know... maybe the executive will have a more holistic view. never seems to be the case, though.

You know more about what you are presenting.

They know more about how that one thing you are teaching them about
will fit into the big picture.

Or at least that's the concept of why they make the Final decision with your recomendations, and not you...

I think it's more a case of formality and seniority in alot of cases. You don't always want the hot shot young analyst interacting with the senior executives of other businesses or clients. the want to put forth a senior, professional, "been-here-awhile" image. that why I do all the work at my job, and then a guy who's about 6 years older than me goes in and presents the information. My industry is full of old men who didn't trust what i was saying because I'm a fresh face.
