Who was your first sports hero?

MVP

For me, George Foreman. I was heartbroken when Ali beat him, he wouldn't have a second time. I was only 9 or 10. No heroes any more.

Charles Barkley.

When he popped Bill Lambieer in the jaw.......broke his goggles and started a brouhaha.....

Barkley was getting the best of Shaq before it was broken up. Had him in a headlock on the ground and was pummeling his big head.

I wish I could have seen that..........Shaq has all the physical advantages over Barkley, but Charles has the heart of a lion and knows no fear....

He's a true soldier.....

I remember the time Barkley stood toe to toe with Charles Oakley, now that would have been a great fight.

Kevin Johnson of the Phoenix Suns. He was my man.

He lives in Sacramento now, but I still see him Phoenix for charities from time to time.....He'll always be special to Suns fans....

He had so much heart, for such a fragile body.....

Awesome man. Yeah he was great to watch. Great role model too. Hence why I am so awesome.

LOL @ basketball players fighting.

The Great One.

I froze my backyard because of him. Parents didn't share my opinion.

For me no other, unless I make an obscure wrestling reference.

I think it was Mohammed Ali... I was young innocent and easily led looking back....Carl Lewis woulda been up there...once again more naivete...

Ulf Nilson, met him when I was 8 years old. He played for the Winnipeg Jets from the mid to late 70's. Wore his number 14 for hockey since I was 8 years old and won't wear anything else when i play sports to this day.

Sweetness, he was the best...I wish Emmitt Smith didn't break his rushing record. I cried when he died years back, it was awful!!!

lol I knew that was coming, but he wasnt my first humphreys was around before him,I do agree he is a much better player though

I don't remember exactly but I do remember thinking Mario Andretti was tha muthafuckin man

Pele only cos I played a lot of soccer as a kid and he was the only soccer star I had heard of

The Redskins like Art Monk, Calvin Muhammad, Dexter Manley, John Riggins. I got a bunch of their autographs at a celebrity basketball game once.

I like Joe Montana a lot. The Bears and their Super Bowl shuffle video was awesome.

I'd say out of all those it would have to be Art Monk.

Fuck Yeah! John Riggins! The orginal #44 mohawk wearing bad ass mother fucking running man!
Thanks Lumberg....Riggins then Larsen.

Remember towards the end of his career Riggins would be seen with an oxygen mask on his face on the sidelines between plays?

For some reason that reminds me of WODIN.

One of my all-times favorites as well. Ferocious 200 lb running back that punished much bigger men. Walter was unbelievable.

LMAO. Riggins became a fat running back in his second half career. He wanted to fit in with the hogs. He could still run fast though. Was an all-american sprinter.

Wayne Gretzky.

Honourable mention to Jack Nicklaus. I was just starting to get into golf when he won the '86 Masters. That was fantastic.

Wayne? Bah!

Mike Bossy!
Ric Flair! <- okay, he's fake, but I like his styling and profiling...

A tie between Henry Aaron and Larry Brown, rb for the Redskins.

Remember Lawrence McCutcheon of the rams? The Rams were my favorite team for many years. Living in Dallas, when all the family would get together, I'd be the only one rooting against the cowboys. I was a rebel. Damn Cowboys beat my Rams too many times.

Yeah, I remember him. My favorite Rams were fred dryer and Jack Youngblood. For the most part I like to watch the defenses over the offenses.
