Who´s Best Club House Deejay-mixer ?

Vítor Rage said:
Junior Vasquez? Roger Sanchez? Armand Van Helden? Robbie Rivera? Danny Tenaglia? Hex Hector? Junior Sanchez? Thunderpuss?

tenaglia club house? I always thought he was DEEP house, really deep. I considered club house to be like bad boy bill with the bouncing bass beats. not my cup of tea. I like west coast house like garth. garth plays sexy, uplifting house.

The best I saw ? Roger Sanchez and Green Velvet. They both work with 3 (even 4 turntables), with samplers and groove box.

depends on your taste...

my all time favorite is the master Jeff Mills ...always uses 3 decks..

however he mostly spins hard and detroit techno, some house thrown in there ocassionally...

as for house...damn thats hard, I have seen sooo many djs...

but danny tenaglia is definitely up there...as mixing skills go..

myself, I am more about song selection than mixing skills when I go to hear a dj...

Jr vasquez may have great mixing skills, but I think the songs he plays are vomit worthy, hencew why I never go to hear him...

Yes, Tenaglia as a productor is mostly deep house, but since he remixes some of club house hits, i add him on the list.

For me, Junior Vasquez is the king .

if talking about mixing skills then all house Dj's nearly have the same skills. Mixing house is soooo easy. I remember when I used to mix shitty house years ago. I would listen to a record 2-3 times in order to find the break or any point in the song where I could fade up another one. Then when I went back to my first love (Hip-hop) I realized how hard it was. Thats why today I respect a lot more hip-hop DJ's.

the hardest working dj in the business...Richard Humpty Vission. This guys lays down the funkiest house beats, even won a grammy and worked with Madonna.

after that, id say deep dish is pretty good. of course, I feel untrue to the scene for posting nationally acclaimed tablists...

richard dumpty vission. umm yeah. that is TRUE club house, tijuana house with the bouncy ass bass, and the records change like the water flows. then again, I hate nrg music like this. all bout the real house. keep that shit deep and sexy. deep dish is dope, although I haven't had a chance to see them live, yet

Bro, you really have no clue what your talkin about. All Dj's have the same skills. Come on now. That is the most ridiculous comment I have ever heard. Name me a few DJ's and i will def. put them in order of mixing skills. Digweed = The Best.

dont be such an idiot. Mixing 2 records together beat-to-beat is something anybody can learn. I did at the age of 8. I had 2 Technics truntable for Christmas (when they used to be cheaper) and an horrible mixer. My neighbour (who was 14 and already mixing in high school parties) showed me how to use the pitch control and the faders on my mixer. From this moment everything was easy for me.

From the moment you know how songs are made (intro-main-break..... 4/4 beat and stuff) it aint that hard to mix.

I would put 3 different Dj's behind a wall let's say Digweed, Tenaglia and a No-Name club DJ, give them all the same 2 records and ask them to mix and you wouldnt be able to make the difference.

Now selecting the right songs and keeping your people on the dance floor is something so different and harder. SOme will never learn. Just like scratching at the right moment.

Tenaglia, Carl Cox, Mauro Picotto

Best new DJ without a doubt Lucien Foort. Heard him play a two hour set in Sydney a couple of months ago and blew me away. Brilliant.

Watch out for him

No offense man, but you have no fuckin idea what you are talkin about. Listen to a live Sasha and Digweed mix, or if you like jungle check out any of Andy C's live mixes then compare them to the locals in your area. Huge difference in mixing skills. Pure skills Sasha and Digweed can't be fucked with. Same goes for Andy C, go to www.breakbeat.co.uk and listen to any of his live mixes for 10-15 minutes and you'll see some true mixing skills. Its about creativity, speed, scratchin skills, track selection, allowing the proper buildup before droppin the track. Andy C can whip out a vinyl, drop it on the deck and have it mixed in quicker than most dj's can remove it from its cover.

Oh and as far as best house/club dj's go I'd have to say Carl Cox or Donald Gluade. I saw Glaude live and he fuckin tore it up. I saw Humpty Vission live about 2 weeks ago and I was very unimpressed. He actually played get your freak on.

Thanx man! This guy manny is funny. He thinks he can mix with the best of them. Mixing isnt close to as easy as the way he makes it out to be.

By the way, i think Carl Cox is great. I've seen him live one time and had an unbelievable time, sober. Jonathan Peters is def. my favorite DJ, followed by Tenaglia.

i thought i saw manny spin a live set in ibiza once at the age of nine. you should have heard him, he spun this trance-jungle-downtempo set. it was so awesome. i mean, it was easy, because anyone can beatmatch....

yeah right...

I agree with What Manny78 is saying.

DJ's who can mix well are a dime a dozen, but there are very few DJ's out there that have any idea about track selection and sequencing, as Manny said.

When i go out to a club or rave, i could really care less whether the DJ is a brilliant mixer or an ordinary mixer. I want to be taken on a journey and the only way to do that is through track selection and variety. A great mixer with poor track selection makes for a boring set.

The majority of punters who go clubbing or raving have very little idea or interest about the technical aspects of the craft, they are there to listen to a wicked set, primarily on the basis of the tracks played

HEX HECTOR!!
A very versatile DJ. He can remix the big names like Whitney, Deborah, Jennifer Lopez and he can also remix the not so mainstream such as Everything But The Girl. And when you hear him spim and plays everything, from House, Tribla, all the way to Garage.
His remixes are AMAZING!!!

Roger Sanchez or Paul Van Dyke imo

Roger Sanchez is def. hot. I've never heard him live but i love his mixes. Will eventually hear him live. I'll jump at the first chance i get.

I agree, I am much more into song selection than "mixing" talent when I go out.

I used to have this fight all the time with Junior lovers. They would say.."but oh, you should hear the way he mixes this over that and etcetc'

who cares when the songs he spins are so shitty!!! (my opinion)

I am very excited...here in NYC we will have the opportunity very soon to hear a techno master, Richie Hawtin, for a 10 hr set at a very small places for 3 bucks...:):):)

I think Judge Jules is the best Club DJ. Most of you are listing techno DJs in which case I think Marco V and Mauro Picotto are best. BTW people's champ I like how you misspelled "Richard Dumpty Vission". : )

no offence but while you were working at McDonald's for a miserable pay-check I was making some decent money. ........

Amen. Me too I was under the impression that good Dj's were guys like Todd Terry, Tenaglia..... Till the day I went to the Playground (I think 2Thick used to work there). Todd Terry was supposed to spin that night. He didnt show up (little baby was upset cause they couldnt give him a first class ticket...). ANyway, they put another black dude for him (Eddy Jasmin), but didnt tell anyone (we knew that the day after). Guess what ? No one realized it wasnt actually Todd Terry. Also recently Sasha was spinning at the Sona. People preffered by far the local who spinned right before (Tiga). SOng selection is everything in the house scene.

Now if you wanna talk about jungle or hip-hop, thats different thing. I'm not into jungle but from what I've heard those beats are pretty hard to mix together.

As for hip-hop it's so differentttttttttt....... You will usually play a song for a minute or 2. That basically gives you 30 seconds to cue and put your song beat 2 beat or at least find the right spot. When you mix house stuff, people wont expect you to drop a song every 2 minutes. You may laugh at those guys by as far as technique goes, Jazzy Jeff and Cash Money the best I've ever heard.

They are great DJ's, especially Tenaglia, but you dont think they have mixing talent. I agree that song selection is key but only the great ones can tear apart a song.

And for you to agree with these other clowns is ridiculous, they have no idea what they are talking about. They dont know how everything works.

Fat Boy Slim during WMC '02 played strictly house, and it was siiiiick!

Eric Morillo
Derrick Carter
Stacey Pullen
Deep Dish
Roger Sanchez

Are all sick as fuck...

Darren Emerson
Layo & Bushwacka

Trance: Tiesto

I recently heard a prog house set from Sander Kleinenberg which was awesome.

Damn, there are a lot of awesome DJs out there, or the music everyone is playing is just getting better and better!
