bronzed, since i cant respond in the last thread, i'll respond here.

i'm all for people like walter williams and colin powel (although i dont approve on a lot of the things the state dept is doing lately, ie. their 2 day summit on finding the roots of anti-americanism). I was just curious what the sentiment towards the people i listed was, since the media portrays them (sharpton, jackson, farrakan) in a positive light, when they are anything but. sorry if you got offended, because that wasn't the point.

LMAO!! I actually recommended RyanH as a mod. I thought he would have been the voice of reason when I took my hiatus. I guess the other people thought differently.

I took a year off because I was spending too much time debating and not changing any minds. It was all anticlimactic.

I typed a long reply and my computer just F*CKED UP! DAMNIT!!!!

I don't like Sharpton and Jackson becuase they are in the media and they make it seem that all black people want reparations(sp) for shit that happend centuries ago. We don't for the most part, just the lazy ones. Both my mother and father grew up in the deep south and I've never once heard them say they deserved anything for all the shit they went through during segregation. I was never raised to hate white people (obviously, refer to avatar). My parents have told me a number of stories about how they were treated like SHIT because of their ethnicity, but neither one of them held any hatred towards white people as a whole (maybe certain individuals). That's why I really don't understand all the racists on Elite who have no reason to hate but I guess it just comes naturally to them.
