all you bastards that make comfy livings can GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS THREAD... i am wondering how the other part of the group here makes it... what do you do? how much you make? how many hours per week? are you happy? what is your rent? etc....

I bring home 500.00 per week.
I suf the net 90% of the day.
I pay rent 495.00

Montreal, Canada
Drive 2000 z24
eat 6 meals per day,
Im happy.

Me.

But that's because I'm a college student working part-time... if I were working full-time, I'd be making just over 30k... but if I were able to work full-time, that means I wouldn't be going to school, in which case I would quit my current job and get a better one for well over 50k.

My rent is 0.

15-20 hours per week.

Yes, I'm happy except for the fact that I don't have a girlfriend, but that would reduce my income. I guess I don't mind not having a girlfriend after all.

Before this year started I never made more than $18,000 in a year. I graduated college last year and will make a decent wage this year, but i still can't afford the motorcycle I want. It's above 30K by a bit though.

I bought a condo and my mortgage is $398.20 per month.

how the fuck did you manage to get that under 400 a month??? not bad to actually OWN something at that rate...

If your at TCU you can bet cher ass it'll be steep.

I was at a state school getting in-state tuition and mine debt is 25K.

Sorry Bomber, I just now saw your question.

The condo was only 60K and it is a 30 year loan at 6.5% interest.

What really sucks is the tax rate here in Dallas. Come October I will owe like $1800. That is an HGH cycle Mang!!!!!!!!!!

gotta love all of us who dont make that much money, yet have a college degree and a debt.... i'd trade my degree for my 25k any day.

Madbomber, you know you can probably get a cheaper mortgage than most places rent to you. And after paying a few months of the mortgage, you actually have equity in it.

I make around 19k a year(before tax, 33%-38%), work 40hours/week, i bought an apartment couple of weeks ago for 12k, mortage 270$/month. I have a total of 1000-1100$ a month to spend on food, bills, gas, partying, traveling etc.

I do, but I'm 17 and still in highschool. I'll make about 20something when I'm in the military, but since there is free room and board, etc. I'll put the money to work for me in mutual funds, ect. Learn some masonry skills. Come out and be a mason. Them like other trades are always needed.

People always gonna be taking shits no matter what computers do. People are always gonna need electrical work, cement laid, houses built. People use to go into trades b/c they were the only way to get by, then moved to college kind of stuff like business and administration, and as the market is flooded w/ those trades are gonna be needed. So there is good money to make.

Highest I've made so far is 35K/year, but that's Canadian dollars (or about $800 US, lol).

It sucks as I'm only earning about half that now. Trying to save for school on $9/hr really sucks!

However, I'm contemplating a job offer right now that would boost my yearly income into the $80K-$90K range. Don't know if I wanna do it though....

Oh, and I work full-time doing customer support.

T.

oh sorry i thought you said 300k:p

FOR THE FISCAL YEAR NOV 99-NOV'00 I MADE ABOUT 34K. THAT WAS IN CASH AND THAT WAS WHAT I BROUGHT HOME. I WORKED AT A CASINO THREE DAYS A WEEK (MORE DURING HOLIDAYS AND SUMMERTIME) AND MADE AWESOME TIPS AS A COCKTAIL SERVER.

Well I can't say that I do anymore, but I know what it is like to make under that, Because I did for a long time.

Rex if your going to make like 20k when you go into the military let me know what your going to do....My yearly salary as a bill collector was about 19k without my bonuses when I was a bill collector

going into the military I'll make about 14400 before taxes just with my monthly pay, I'm getting another 12k in bonuses the first year, and not sure what my paid medical and dental coverage is worth or how much I will make once/and if I qualify after Airborne and Ranger I'm sure that will add a bit more to my pay but probably not much

Hmmm, with the Australian dollar as it is right now compared to the US dollar I think I make under US$30k a year. But that's still not bad for an income here in Australia.

I'm a bit under 30k but I live in WV where the cost of living is pretty low. I make enough to pay $400 month rent on a 2 bedroom apt. and I just bought a new car.

I just changed in $3000 US dollars yesterday for Australian dollars. The exchange rate I got was 1.93. I will be in Sydney from the 14th to the 24th of Sept.

Are things cheaper down under or are they just marked twice as high so I still get fucked??

From what I have heard from other Americans who visited Australia, the cost of living here is far cheaper than in the US. In fact it is much cheaper here than in Japan and Europe also.

Your US$3000 should get you pretty far down here - unless you gamble. Australia is one of the biggest gambling nations in the world and you'll find that just about all angles are covered here in that respect, heck if you go gambling you $3000 will probably last you 3 hours...

you bastards paying 400 in rent piss me off... i swear to god the going rate around me is WELL over 500... i'd say close to 550-600 for a one bedroom in oakland co. but i need to rent a house for the dog to have a yard, so that puts me into the 700-800 dollar range for a merely adequate place... i believe my mom is going to buy another house and rent it to me while she adds a garage and new siding... then when she sells i will have to split again, but oh well...

by the way, i am being offered a job that pays a dismal 22,400 a year but has good benefits... and seemingly decent hours... 12:30-8:30 tue-fri and 10-6 sat. working for the boys and girls club... i would be the education director. if i dont go that route than i will stick with subbing at 96 bucks a day and keep a part time job that pays about 225 for 20-25 hours of work. i believe i would make about 3k more that way, but subbing is iffy when the weather is nice and teachers are in good health...

House payment: 864
Car 1 payment: 375
Car 2 payment: 285

2 kids and a wife at home. Make more than 30k, but still am pushing the boundaries of my salary.

I feel u on this one. I am looking at houses right now and they are in between 800-1200 a month for the little ass ones I am looking at. This is in Wayne county. Fuck the apartment I was look at was a 2 bed/2bath 900square feet, $930 a month.

FUCK MICHIGAN'S PRICES.

US? most definitely... CAD? again, yes.

it's because i'm a student...

my rent is luckily going to be cheap - 315+utilities (a two bedroom apt split between myself and a roommate, so that's my half)
i'm living in a small city, that's why
i have no job where i'm moving. i will get one if i am not too busy with school

I make around $27.5k a year. My rent is $650 for a 2 bedroom, not including utilities.
here are my monthly bills:
Rent: $650
credit card: $250 (paying off a new engine for my truck)
student loans: $207
not to mention gym, utilities, cell phone, cable, internet etc. I am a broke dick. I made more before I went to college. I wish I could sue someone for making me think college was the answer to success. What a fucking joke!

i "work" for the federal government, just cracked the 30K ceiling this year for base salary, but get overtime that fluxuates greatly.

house payment, 2 mortgages, $750/month
car payment: paid off last march! (gotta avoid checking out new cars!)
blood sucking visa payment: whatever is left over

i'm rebuilding a '66 mustang that is turning into a money pit

i don't spend more than i make; but spend right at what i make.

if it wasn't for the government's 401K and the credit union taking money outta my paycheck BEFORE i get my hands on it; i wouldn't save anything.

$10 a week in allowance and whatever empty pop bottles I find to trade in. My living expenses are:

3 Archie comics a week=$5
candy=$3
toys=$2
Piggy bank=Whatever is left over

NOt me. I make $28/hr +$4.00/hr differential for working nights. After 2 12hr shifts in a week we get double time so thats $60.00/hr.
So a two week normal schedule would be :
48 hours (Straight time) x $32.00 and then 24 hours (double time).
Its nice.:D
