Who here lives in Nevada?

i'm not from nevada but...

it probably wont be decriminalized. people are realizing that the majority of voters just want to get high and not use the medicine aspects of the drug. it used to be around 50/50 now most people are about 55/45 in favor or not changing the law.

even if it did it would have to go back on the ballot in '04 and who knows whether the fed. government will step in by then or what.

if it does get a yes it will be interesting to watch what unfolds when state gov. challenges federal law.

"People are realizing that the majority of voters just want to get high" eh?! WELL DUH! What did they think people were using it for before man, decorating?? The Law as it is has NOTHING to do with medicinal marijuana, so I'm not sure how your point even applies. The proposed change in law deals with weather or not a preson who uses Pot responsibly, should be allowed to posess a certain amount legally, if they are of a certain age.

"The Federal Government stepping in"??? What Country are you living in bro? Why would they bother putting it on a ballot & voting on it if it were able to be overridden by the Feds. FYI... the Feds can NOT change a STATE Law if it is voted upon & approved by the people in that State. They can continue to enforce Federal Laws within that State, but the States officials can absolutely, 100% allow a person to walk away scott-free with less than 3 ounces, if the law does indeed pass.

the thing i said about the state vs fed. gov. was taken the wrong way i think. i meant it'll be interesting to see state government challenging the federal government on something that large, and if it works how many other states will follow suit with similar amendments.

if the fed. government wanted to be smart about it they'd decriminalize and legalize for sale to those w/ valid licenses. corporations like marlboro or something similar could mass cultivate and sell it. then the gov. would tax the shit ouf of those companies and impose a tax on individual sales like the cig. and alcohol taxes. that'd be alot of money. marijuana is a $32.5 billion dollar/year crop.

why let them tax it? Legalize and keep the government out.

Federal law usurps state law. So, in a sense, it can be "overridden."

The Federal Courts can "change" a state law if it is deemed unconstitutional. Get the wrong judge(s), and the interpretation gets pretty loose.
